Robust optimality of linear saturated control in uncertain linear network flows

We propose a novel approach that, given a linear saturated feedback control policy, asks for the objective function that makes robust optimal such a policy. The approach is specialized to a linear network flow system with unknown but bounded demand and politopic bounds on controlled flows. All results are derived via the Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs and viscosity theory.

The model complex [(64)Cu((S)-p-NH(2)-Bn-NOTA)](-) ([(64)Cu]1) was used to study the isomerism of [(64)Cu-NOTA-Bn]-labeled radiotracers. Two complex isomers [(64)Cu]1a and [(64)Cu]1b, which were formed at a ratio of 1:9 during the complexation of [(64)Cu]Cu(2+) with (S)-p-NH(2)-Bn-NOTA, were separated using ion pair chromatography. To study the interconversion, the nonradioactive complex isomers Cu1a and Cu1b were separated and thermally treated at 90 °C in both ammonium acetate solution and deionized water. The thermal denaturation of the synthetic high molecular weight double stranded polynucleotide poly(dA-dT) x poly(dA-dT) has been studied in aqueous buffered solution (Tris 1.0 mM; pH 7.8+/-0.2) in the presence of increasing concentrations of either Ni(2+) (borderline cation) or Cd(2+) (soft cation) at four different constant ionic strength values (NaCl), making use of UV and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopies. The oxidation of ubiquinol by the isolated rieske iron-sulfur protein in solution

The pre-steady-state redox reactions of the Rieske iron-sulfur protein isolated from beef heart mitochondria have been characterized. The rates of oxidation by c-type cytochromes is much faster than the rate of reduction by ubiquinols. This enables the monitoring of the oxidation of ubiquinols by the Rieske protein through the steady-state electron transfer to cytochrome c in solution. The pH and ionic strength dependence of this reaction indicate that the ubiquinol anion is the direct reductant of the oxidized cluster of the iron-sulfur protein. Effects of Ethanol to Water Ratio in Feed Solution on the Crystallinity of Spray-Dried Lactose

In the present study, the effects of ethanol to water ratio in feed solution on the physical properties of spray-dried alpha-lactose monohydrate were evaluated. Crystallinity of the spray-dried lactose was determined by isothermal microcalorimetry (IMC) and by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Water content of the spray-dried lactose was determined by thermogravimetric analysis and the surface area was evaluated by Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller (BET) method. The crystallinity of spray-dried lactose varied from 0% to 100%, depending on the ratio of ethanol to water in the feed solution. An extended Darboux transformation to get families of solutions to the KPI equation

By means of a Darboux transform with particular generating function solutions to the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation (KPI) are constructed. We give a method that provides different types of solutions in terms of particular determinants of order N. For any order, these solutions depend of the degree of summation and the degree of derivation of the generating functions. We study the patterns of their modulus in the plane (x, y) and their evolution according time and parameters.
Rational solutions to the KdV equation depending on multi-parameters

We construct multi-parametric rational solutions to the KdV equation. For this, we use solutions in terms of exponentials depending on several parameters and take a limit when one of these parameters goes to 0. Here we present degenerate rational solutions and give a result without the presence of a limit as a quotient of polynomials depending on 3N parameters. We give the explicit expressions of some of these rational solutions.

The retention behaviour of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) using micellar mobile phases of sodium dodecylsulphate (SDS) is studied and compared with that observed with micellar mobile phases of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). A liquid chromatographic procedure for the determination of acemetacin, diclofenac, indomethacin, ketoprofen, naproxen and tolmetin in pharmaceutical preparations is described. The proposed system uses a Kromasil C18 analytical column and a solution of 0.15 M SDS at pH 3 with 10% 1-propanol as mobile phase.
