Gene m164 of murine cytomegalovirus belongs to the large group of 'private' genes that show no homology to those of other cytomegalovirus species and are thought to represent 'host adaptation' genes involved in virus-host interaction. Previous interest in the m164 gene product was based on the presence of an immunodominant CD8 T-cell epitope presented at the surface of infected cells, despite interference by viral immune-evasion proteins. Oligodendrocyte and Schwann Cell Identification Methods

Oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells were first identified using light and electron microscopy of tissue. With the definition of proteins and lipids specific to these cells, antigen localization or in situ hybridization of the mRNA has facilitated identification in vivo and in vitro. Transgenic and ‘knockin’ mice have been generated in which cells expressing a specific promoter are fluorescently labeled. This permits isolation of the cells by fluorescence-activated cell sorting and the study of the labeled cells in situ by techniques such as electrophysiology. Transgenic zebra fish, in which the glial cells are similarly labeled, facilitate studies of these cells in the living animal.

A multi-objective optimal allocation of treated wastewater in urban areas using leader-follower game

Abstract This study proposes a new method for optimal allocation of Treated Wastewater (TW), in which different stakeholders, their social position in decision-making, and priority of objectives were attended using the leader-follower game theory. The suggested methodology was applied in a case study in the eastern part of Tehran province in Iran, where the Water and Sewage Department is considered the leader and four TW dependent districts are the followers in the game model. Reconstitution du squelette d'astérides fossiles à partir d'ossicules isolés : intérêt taxinomique et phylogénétique

Abstract Dissociated ossicles of asteroids are frequent in neritic sediments. Until now, this material was mainly used in the identification of species. A new method, associating a morphological analysis and counting of plates, allows the architecture of the skeleton and the shape of the body to be reconstructed. This method provides new elements for taxonomic and phylogenetic comparisons. It also provides indications on the adaptation of the asteroids to their environment. In geological beds, frequencies of the different kinds of plates will allow qualification of bioerosion and taphonomic sorting.

They are located inside niches of the heart muscle, can be isolated, characterized and used for cardiac regeneration in stem cell therapy.
