Hard Competencies Satisfaction Levels for Software Engineers: A Unified Framework

Software engineer’s/developer’s competency has long been established as a key pillar for the development of software. Nevertheless, the satisfaction levels derived from using a competency needs more investigation. The aim of this paper is to propose a framework for identifying hard competencies and their satisfaction levels. The paper contributes to the software engineering competency research by highlighting the satisfaction levels of hard competence for the benefit of the educators (academia), software engineers and users of software competence (practitioner). peerReviewed
IEEE Std. 1459 power quantities ratio approaches for simplified harmonic emissions assessment

The paper investigates the suitability of using power ratio parameters for harmonic emissions assessment at the point of common coupling (PCC). The study is carried out starting from the IEEE Std. 1459-2010 apparent power decomposition, where power factors are defined for evaluating line utilization and harmonic pollution levels. In addition, the study investigates the behavior of new parameters, which are expressed in terms of ratio between IEEE Std. 1459-2010 power quantities. The study is carried out for both single-phase and three-phase case, also considering the presence of capacitors. ? 2018 IEEE.
Diagnostics of a charge breeder electron cyclotron resonance ion source helium plasma with the injection of 23 Na 1+ ions

This work describes the utilization of an injected 23Na1þ ion beam as a diagnostics of the helium plasma of a charge breeder electron cyclotron resonance ion source. The obtained data allows estimating the upper limit for the ion-ion collision mean-free path of the incident sodium ions, the lower limit of ion-ion collision frequencies for all charge states of the sodium ions and the lower limit of the helium plasma density. The ion-ion collision frequencies of high charge state ions are shown to be at least on the order of 1–10 MHz and the plasma density is estimated to be on the order of 1011 cm−3 or higher. Estas limitaciones ponen de relieve la necesidad de la lectura guiada, una propuesta didáctica que suele relacionarse con los niveles iniciales de la enseñanza, pero cuya necesidad se hace cada vez más imperiosa en la educación superior. Teaching historical thinking in practice : a study of US history teachers’ views on using primary sources in AP and IB history lessons

Analysis of primary sources has been recognised to have a significant impact on the development of students’ historical thinking. This study explored US history teachers’ attitudes and practices to using primary sources by interviewing six history teachers and observing 29 history lessons between August and November 2016 in Indiana and California. The main focus of the study was on the views of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Advancement Placement (AP) history teachers.
