If Only They Knew: Audience Expectations and Actual Sourcing Practices in Online Journalism

This article answers the question “Are the sourcing practices in Finnish online journalism trustworthy?” Here, trustworthiness is operationalized as the fulfillment of audience expectations towards sourcing practices. To this end, expectations of young Finnish adults (aged 18–28) were compared to the observed practices of Finnish online journalists. A total of 36 news items (from 12 journalists working in three newsrooms, published in 2013 and 2017) were analyzed. La storia del vetro in edilizia coincide con la ricerca della trasparenza: grazie al vetro la luce può entrare negli ambienti che, al tempo stesso, sono protetti dagli agenti atmosferici. Negli ultimi anni, con l’evoluzione tecnologica, abbiamo assistito a una rivoluzione delle possibilità di impiego di tale materiale. Fiksācijas disparitāte un konverģences nepietiekamība.

Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 47 lapām, tas satur 19 attēlus, 14 tabulas un 51 atsauci uz literatūras avotiem. Mērķis bija novērtēt fiksācijas disparitātes saistību ar konverģences nepietiekamību. Pētījumam bija divas daļas: 1. grupā bija 5 dalībnieki ar konverģences nepietiekamību, kas veica 12 nedēļu ilgu redzes terapiju, lai izvērtētu tās ietekmi uz binokulārajām funkcijām, lasīšanas ātrumu, CISS vērtējumu un fiksācijas disparitāti; 2. grupā bija 51 dalībnieks, kuri aizpildīja CISS aptauju un veica fiksācijas disparitātes mērījumus, lai izvērtētu šo divu parametru saistību. SPARQL vaicājumvaloda, kas ir oficiāla vaicājumvaloda RDF datiem, ir pietiekami komplicēta, lai to varētu izmantot visi lietotāji, ieskaitot ne-IT speciālistus. Vizuālie vaicājumu uzdošanas rīki ļauj lietotājam veidot vaicājumu vizuālajā formā un atrisina šo problēmu, bet pieejamo rīku skaits nav liels, un to izteiksmes spēja būtiski atpaliek no pilnās tekstuālās vaicājumu valodas iespējām. Il contributo si propone di scandagliare la tensione, cui si trova la pubblica amministrazione, tra esigenze di semplificazione e ricerca di forme di partecipazione inclusive. Partendo da una disamina del contesto attuale, dei problemi collegati al digital divide, si analizza la portata del rapporto tra innovazione sociale e welfare digitale nella pubblica amministrazione. Compression and load balancing for efficient sparse matrix-vector product on multicore processors and graphics processing units

We contribute to the optimization of the sparse matrix-vector product by introducing a variant of the coordinate sparse matrix format that balances the workload distribution and compresses both the indexing arrays and the numerical information. Our approach is multi-platform, in the sense that the realizations for (general-purpose) multicore processors as well as graphics accelerators (GPUs) are built upon common principles, but differ in the implementation details, which are adapted to avoid thread divergence in the GPU case or maximize compression element-wise (i.e., for each matrix entry) for multicore architectures.
