This chapter explores the role of strategic interactions that affect the spatial allocation of structural funds in the European Union. More specifically, this chapter seeks to test if the interactions between government decisions are strategic substitutes or complements in the context of the European structural funds allocation. Bien que l’indicateur le plus utilisé soit le ratio de densité brut de population, cet indicateur n’est pas suffisant pour qualifier l’occupation d’un espace. The household location in multicenter urban spaces

In multicenter urban spaces, the household location problem is to find an optimal location taking into account the locations of several economic centers.In this article, we show that the usual model, maximizing a residential utility under a budget spatial constraint, can’t give a satisfactory solution.So, we construct a fuzzy spatial model, including imprecision in consumer’s behavior. This model allows us to find an optimal location in a multicenter urban setting. Then, an empirical study illustrates the performances of the fuzzy model.

In the freshwater ostracod Eucypris virens (Jurine, 1820), the distribution of sexual and parthenogenetic populations in the temporary Lake Caracuel, central Spain, was not homogeneous. Assessment of the interpretability of data mining for the spatial modelling of water erosion using game theory

Abstract This study undertook a comprehensive application of 15 data mining (DM) models, most of which have, thus far, not been commonly used in environmental sciences, to predict land susceptibility to water erosion hazard in the Kahorestan catchment, southern Iran. The DM models were BGLM, BGAM, Cforest, CITree, GAMS, LRSS, NCPQR, PLS, PLSGLM, QR, RLM, SGB, SVM, BCART and BTR. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to present a system for customized binaural audio delivery based on the extraction of relevant features from a 2-D representation of the listener’s pinna. Design/methodology/approach – The most significant pinna contours are extracted by means of multi-flash imaging, and they provide values for the parameters of a structural head-related transfer function (HRTF) model. Modelling patterns of the spatial incidence of diseases using local environmental factors has been a growing problem in the last few years. Geostatistical models have become popular lately because they allow estimating and predicting the underlying disease risk and relating it with possible risk factors. Poor prenatal care in an urban area: a geographic analysis.

Abstract Poor prenatal care increases the risk of having a premature or low-birth-weight infant. Rates of poor prenatal care vary spatially, influenced not only by individual mothers’ characteristics but also by social neighborhood context and proximity to healthcare services. The aim of this article is to identify and map the spatial patterns of prenatal care and to analyze the spatial and social origins of such inequalities.
