Spin pumping in noncollinear antiferromagnets
2021
The ac spin pumping of noncollinear antiferromagnets is theoretically investigated. Starting from an effective action description of the spin system, we derive the Onsager coefficients connecting the spin pumping and spin-transfer torque associated with the dynamics of the SO(3)-valued antiferromagnetic order parameter. Our theory is applied to a kagome antiferromagnet resonantly driven by a uniform external magnetic field. We demonstrate that the reactive (dissipative) spin-transfer torque parameter can be extracted from the pumped ac spin current in-phase (in quadrature) with the driving field. Furthermore, we find that the three spin-wave bands of the kagome AF generate spin currents wit…
Stray light characterization in a high-resolution imaging spectrometer designed for solar-induced fluorescence
2019
New commercial-off-the-shelf imaging spectrometers promise the combination of high spatial and spectral resolution needed to retrieve solar induced fluorescence (SIF). Imaging at multiple wavelengths for individual plants and even individual leaves from low-altitude airborne or ground-based platforms has applications in agriculture and carbon-cycle science. Data from these instruments could provide insight into the status of the photosynthetic apparatus at scales of space and time not observable with tools based on gas exchange, and could support the calibration and validation activities of current and forthcoming space missions to quantify SIF. High-spectral resolution enables SIF retrieva…
Spectral imaging system for money counterfeit detection
2019
A prototype with three different wavelength lasers (448nm, 532nm and 659nm) for money counterfeit illumination, analyzation and detection using RGB crosstalk correction and comparing spectral image ration for different banknote elements will be presented.
Compressive single-pixel multispectral Stokes polarimeter
2014
We present a single-pixel system that performs polarimetric multispectral imaging with the aid of compressive sensing techniques. We experimentally obtain the full Stokes spatial distribution of a scene for different spectral channels.
Spectral imaging system for scaling the power spectrum of optical waveforms.
2007
We propose and analyze a new photonic system to change the scale of the optical power spectrum of an ultrashort pulse. Our device corresponds to the dual (spectral domain) configuration of a temporal imaging system. It is configured with two time lenses separated by a linear first-order dispersive medium. The specific relation between the chirp rates and the first-order dispersion coefficient is obtained. The main practical constraints are discussed, and the system performance is tested by means of a numerical simulation.

We demonstrate experimentally ghost optical coherence tomography using a broadband incoherent supercontinuum light source with shot-to-shot random spectral fluctuations. The technique is based on ghost imaging in the spectral domain where the object is the spectral interference pattern generated from an optical coherence tomography interferometer in which a physical sample is placed. The axial profile of the sample is obtained from the Fourier transform of the correlation between the spectrally resolved intensity fluctuations of the supercontinuum and the integrated signal measured at the output of the interferometer. The results are in excellent agreement with measurements obtained from a …
A class-separability-based method for multi/hyperspectral image color visualization
2010
In this paper, a new color visualization technique for multi- and hyperspectral images is proposed. This method is based on a maximization of the perceptual distance between the scene endmembers as well as natural constancy of the resulting images. The stretched CMF principle is used to transform reflectance into values in the CIE L*a*b* colorspace combined with an a priori known segmentation map for separability enhancement between classes. Boundaries are set in the a*b* subspace to balance the natural palette of colors in order to ease interpretation by a human expert. Convincing results on two different images are shown.
Unsupervised deep feature extraction of hyperspectral images
2014
This paper presents an effective unsupervised sparse feature learning algorithm to train deep convolutional networks on hyperspectral images. Deep convolutional hierarchical representations are learned and then used for pixel classification. Features in lower layers present less abstract representations of data, while higher layers represent more abstract and complex characteristics. We successfully illustrate the performance of the extracted representations in a challenging AVIRIS hyperspectral image classification problem, compared to standard dimensionality reduction methods like principal component analysis (PCA) and its kernel counterpart (kPCA). The proposed method largely outperforms…
Cluster kernels for semisupervised classification of VHR urban images
2009
In this paper, we present and apply a semisupervised support vector machine based on cluster kernels for the problem of very high resolution image classification. In the proposed setting, a base kernel working with labeled samples only is deformed by a likelihood kernel encoding similarities between unlabeled examples. The resulting kernel is used to train a standard support vector machine (SVM) classifier. Experiments carried out on very high resolution (VHR) multispectral and hyperspectral images using very few labeled examples show the relevancy of the method in the context of urban image classification. Its simplicity and the small number of parameters involved make it versatile and wor…
Spatial analysis of the homogeneity of the land surface temperature in three Spanish test sites
2015
Calibration and validation cal/val are key activities to test the data quality acquired from satellite-based instruments, as well as to report the accuracy of derived products such as the land surface temperature LST. Calibration of thermal infrared TIR data and validation of LST products at low spatial resolution requires the identification of large and homogeneous areas, which is a difficult task. In this work, spatial and temporal homogeneity of LST was analysed over three Spanish regions: the agricultural area of Barrax, Donana National Park, and Cabo de Gata Natural Park. For this purpose, very high spatial resolution approximately 3 m imagery acquired with the Airborne Hyperspectral S…
