A 3D multispectral integrated acquisition system : acquisition, data coding and compression
2010
We have developed an integrated system permitting the simultaneous acquisition of the 3D shape and the spectral spectral reflectance of scanned object surfaces. We call this system a 3D multispectral scanner because it combines within a stereopair, a multispectral video camera and a structured light projector. We see several application possibilities for a such acquisition system but we want to highlight applications in the field of digital archiving and broadcasting for heritage objects. In the manuscript we first introduce the acquisition system and its necessary calibrations and treatments needed for his use. Then, once the acquisition system is functional, data that are generated are ri…
Integration of high resolution spatial and spectral data acquisition systems for monitoring purposes in cultural heritage applications
2013
The concern and interest of this PhD thesis is the registration of featureless 3D and multispectral datasets describing cultural heritage objects. In this context, there are few natural salient features between the complementary datasets, and the use of targets is generally proscribed. We thus develop a technique based on the photogrammetric tracking of the acquisition systems in use.A series of simulations was performed to evaluate the accuracy of our method in three configurations chosen to represent a variety of cultural heritage objects. These simulations show that we can achieve a spatial tracking accuracy of 0.020 mm and an angular accuracy of 0.100 mrad using four 5 Mpx cameras when dig…
Hyperspectral near-field imaging : development and applications to nanophotonics devices
2013
The scanning near-field optical microscopy (SNOM) is used to analyze optical phenomena at the sub-wavelength scale such as light localization and propagation in photonic crystals or plasmonic devices. In any case, SNOM experiments rely on the positioning of a local probe in the optical near field of a given structure and on the detection of the surrounding evanescent waves. Depending on the nature of the probe or on the optical detection method, the detected physical properties are the spatial distributions of the amplitude and phase or the intensity of the electric and magnetic components of the probed field. We present here the implementation of an innovative hyperspectral near-field imag…
Remote and proximal sensing for precision agriculture and viticulture". Special issue
2021
International audience; Special Issue InformationDear Colleagues,Remote and proximal sensing are the two most common techniques concerning the acquisition of information about an object or any phenomenon without physical contact with the object. Remote sensing is widely tied to the use of satellite, airborne or UAV platforms using multi- or hyperspectral imagery. In terms of proximal sensing, the sensor is close to the object and is installed on platforms ranging from handheld, fixed installations, or robotics and tractor-embedded sensors. The types of sensors range from simple RGB or grey-level-cameras to multispectral and hyperspectral high resoluted imaging systems or even thermographic …

Multitemporal Unmixing of Medium-Spatial-Resolution Satellite Images: A Case Study Using MERIS Images for Land-Cover Mapping
2011
Data from current medium-spatial-resolution imaging spectroradiometers are used for land-cover mapping and land-cover change detection at regional to global scales. However, few landscapes are homogeneous at these scales, and this creates the so-called mixed-pixel problem. In this context, this study explores the use of the linear spectral mixture model to extract subpixel land-cover composition from medium-spatial-resolution data. In particular, a time series of MEdium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) full-resolution (FR; pixel size of 300 m) images acquired over The Netherlands is used to illustrate this study. The Netherlands was selected because of the following: 1) the fragmenta…
Search for low-energy neutrinos from astrophysical sources with Borexino
2019
We report on searches for neutrinos and antineutrinos from astrophysical sources performed with the Borexino detector at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso in Italy. Electron antineutrinos ($\bar{\nu}_e$) are detected in an organic liquid scintillator through the inverse $\beta$-decay reaction. In the present work we set model-independent upper limits in the energy range 1.8-16.8 MeV on neutrino fluxes from unknown sources that improve our previous results, on average, by a factor 2.5. Using the same data set, we first obtain experimental constraints on the diffuse supernova $\bar{\nu}_e$ fluxes in the previously unexplored region below 8 MeV. A search for $\bar{\nu}_e$ in the solar ne…
Neutral Iron Emission Lines From The Day-side Of KELT-9b -- The GAPS Programme With HARPS-N At TNG XX
2020
We present the first detection of atomic emission lines from the atmosphere of an exoplanet. We detect neutral iron lines from the day-side of KELT-9b (Teq $\sim$ 4, 000 K). We combined thousands of spectrally resolved lines observed during one night with the HARPS-N spectrograph (R $\sim$ 115, 000), mounted at the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo. We introduce a novel statistical approach to extract the planetary parameters from the binary mask cross-correlation analysis. We also adapt the concept of contribution function to the context of high spectral resolution observations, to identify the location in the planetary atmosphere where the detected emission originates. The average planetary li…
High Angular Resolution ALMA Images of Dust and Molecules in the SN 1987A Ejecta
2019
We present high angular resolution (~80 mas) ALMA continuum images of the SN 1987A system, together with CO $J$=2 $\!\rightarrow\!$ 1, $J$=6 $\!\rightarrow\!$ 5, and SiO $J$=5 $\!\rightarrow\!$ 4 to $J$=7 $\!\rightarrow\!$ 6 images, which clearly resolve the ejecta (dust continuum and molecules) and ring (synchrotron continuum) components. Dust in the ejecta is asymmetric and clumpy, and overall the dust fills the spatial void seen in H$\alpha$ images, filling that region with material from heavier elements. The dust clumps generally fill the space where CO $J$=6 $\!\rightarrow\!$ 5 is fainter, tentatively indicating that these dust clumps and CO are locationally and chemically linked. In t…
