This article deals with the simultaneous determination of three dissolution profiles in the same pharmaceutical formulation. The officially proposed procedure from the pharmacopoeias is adapted to the FIA methodology to obtain the officially recommended profile or "global profile", and two "individual" profiles, corresponding to dissolution rate of two different active principles present in the formulation; both drugs have overlapped UV-vis spectra. First-principles Raman spectra have been computed for several new vaterite structural models that have been recently proposed, and compared with spectra recorded on a set of biogenic, geological and synthetic samples. This set includes new measurements collected on Herdamania momus spicules (Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia), which are known to have purity and crystallinity that are higher than for other biogenic samples. Coronoids, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with geometrically defined cavities, are promising model structures of porous graphene. Here, we report the on-surface synthesis of C168 and C140 coronoids, referred to as [6]- and [5]coronoid, respectively, using 5,9-dibromo-14-phenylbenzo[m]tetraphene as the precursor. These coronoids entail large cavities (>1 nm) with inner zigzag edges, distinct from their outer armchair edges. While [6]coronoid is planar, [5]coronoid is not. 0021-9606; Raman-induced polarization spectroscopy (RIPS) experiments combined with homodyne detection have been conducted with a femtosecond laser at room temperature and low pressure (p < 2 atm) in CO2-N2 mixtures as well as in air (O2-N2 mixtures). Each molecule of the mixture produces its own time-dependent signal, measured as a series of recurring transients. Macroscopic interference is observed when transients of both molecules overlap in the time domain. This interference leads to a large modification of the signal, which is well reproduced by calculations. The paper presents the study of the fully mixed A 1Σ+–b 3Π complex of the NaRb molecule based on high-resolution sub-Doppler spectroscopy and intensity measurements, ab initio relativistic calculations of energies, transition moments and spin–orbit interactions, as well as an inverted channel-coupling approach (ICCA) deperturbation analysis. A two-laser V-type pump–probe excitation scheme was employed to obtain A←X transition frequencies to 16 A-state vibrational levels from v=6 to v=21 with J from 8 to 23. Characterization of adsorbed water in MIL-53(Al) by FTIR spectroscopy and ab-initio calculations

Here, we report ab-initio calculations developed with a twofold purpose: understand how adsorbed water molecules alter the infrared spectrum of the metal-organic framework MIL-53(Al) and to investigate which are the associated physico-chemical processes. The analyzed structures are the two anhydrous narrow (np⊘) and large (lp⊘) pore forms and the hydrated narrow pore form (np-H2O) of the MIL-53(Al). For these structures, we determined their corresponding infrared spectra (FTIR) and we identified the vibrational modes associated to the dominant spectral lines.
