Bit-parallel pattern matching encodes calculated values in bit arrays. This approach gains its efficiency by performing multiple updates within a machine word. An important parameter is therefore the machine word size (e.g. 32 or 64 bits). Exploiting selective instruction reuse and value prediction in a superscalar architecture

In our previously published research we discovered some very difficult to predict branches, called unbiased branches. Since the overall performance of modern processors is seriously affected by misprediction recovery, especially these difficult branches represent a source of important performance penalties. Our statistics show that about 28% of branches are dependent on critical Load instructions. Moreover, 5.61% of branches are unbiased and depend on critical Loads, too. The speed of sound and density of mixtures of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate ([emim][triflate]) with methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, and water, as well as of the pure components have been experimentally measured over the whole range of compositions at T = (278.15 to 338.15) K and atmospheric pressure. A comprehensive study on the atom flow in the cross-field discharge of a Hall thruster

The flow properties of Xe atoms were investigated in the 1 kW class PPS100-ML Hall effect thruster by means of Doppler-shifted laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy in the near infrared. Fluorescence spectra of the resonant level and the metastable level have been acquired inside and outside the thruster channel under several operating conditions. Analytical treatment and modelling of the measured lineshapes indicate the atom axial velocity increases inside the channel to a value well above the sound speed before decreasing quickly in the near-field plume. A mass-independent expanded Dunham analysis of aluminum monoxide and aluminum monosulfide

Abstract Pure rotational transitions of 27Al16O, 27Al18O, 27Al32S, and 27Al34S are recorded in the vibrational ground state and singly excited vibrational state using a mm-wavelength supersonic jet spectrometer in combination with a laser ablation source. In total 275 rotational transitions have been assigned. For the first time, mass-independent expanded Dunham analyses are performed using isotopologues of aluminum monoxide and aluminum monosulfide. The breakdown of the Born-Oppenheimer approximation is observed. Modeling Atmospheric Turbulence via Rapid Distortion Theory: Spectral Tensor of Velocity and Buoyancy

Abstract A spectral tensor model is presented for turbulent fluctuations of wind velocity components and temperature, assuming uniform vertical gradients in mean temperature and mean wind speed. The model is built upon rapid distortion theory (RDT) following studies by Mann and by Hanazaki and Hunt, using the eddy lifetime parameterization of Mann to make the model stationary. Validation of buoyancy driven spectral tensor model using HATS data

We present a homogeneous spectral tensor model for wind velocity and temperature fluctuations, driven by mean vertical shear and mean temperature gradient. Results from the model, including one-dimensional velocity and temperature spectra and the associated co-spectra, are shown in this paper. The model also reproduces two-point statistics, such as coherence and phases, via cross-spectra between two points separated in space.
