This study was designed to examine the anticipated strong influence of extreme impact loading on the mineral mass, size, and gross structural properties of triple jumpers' lower limb bones. We compared the bone data obtained with peripheral quantitative computed tomography (pQCT) and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) from 8 Finnish triple jumpers with corresponding data from gender-, age-, height-, and weight-matched nonathletic peers. Background: Spine aneurysmal bone cysts (ABCs) rarely occur in adults. Primary and secondary lesions may show some differences and require appropriate treatments. Objective: To systematically review the literature on adult spine ABCs. Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, and Web-of-Science were searched. Clinical-radiological features, treatments, and outcomes were analyzed and compared between primary vs secondary adult spine ABCs. Results: We included 80 studies comprising 220 patients. Walking is the most common form of human locomotion. From a motor control perspective, human bipedalism makes the task of walking extremely complex. For parts of the step cycle, there is only one foot on the ground, so both balance and propulsion are required in order for the movement to proceed smoothly. SPECT Bone scintigraphy of benign and malignant lesions of the spine

70 patients were examined with planar and SPECT bone scintigraphy. SPECT proved to be superior over planar bone scanning for imaging of traumatic, inflammatory, and malignant bone lesions. SPECT provides three-dimensional information and, therefore, delineates the exact location and extension of lesions. It also has a higher sensitivity than planar bone scintigraphy. The three-dimensional bone scan generates complementary diagnostic information which often facilitates an adequate therapy protocol.

Polymeric and colloidal gels with a constant molar ratio of (Al+Ni and/or Ti)/Si=3/1 and various (Al/Ni and/or Ti) ratios (up to 21.42 mol% NiO+TiO2) were prepared and used to study the effect of the precursor chemical homogeneity on mullite formation processes and the resulting microstructure. Both kinds of gel precursors were preheated at 750°C for 3 h in order to obtain appropriate gel-derived glasses for further thermal processing. Abstract In this study, using a prototype of hydrothermal synthesis in subcritical and supercritical water working in a continuous way, nanometric ceramic precursors with perfectly defined composition are produced: spinel ferrites such as Fe2CoO4, TiO2 with anatase structure and also perovskite structures such as BaZrO3. The as-prepared powders are fully characterized by complementary experiments: X-ray diffraction, electron microscopies, EDX spectrometry, surface area measurement, etc. Thus, particles size, morphology, aggregation state, crystal structure, composition are investigated.
