This master thesis is a qualitative narrative inquiry that illustrates and explores the stories of five visually disabled participants who took up the practice of rock climbing and mountaineering as a means to overcome social inequality. The researcher’s role within the study was that of active participation by being the coach and mountain guide for the participants over a period of five years. Good movement control is essential in team sports that require fast-paced running, pivoting, jumping and landing. Alterations in dynamic neuromuscular control may cause significant stress on the musculoskeletal system, and increase the risk of both acute and overuse injuries. Hypothesis: Previous acute knee injury and lower perceived knee function measured by Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) will increase the risk of acute knee injury in youth team-sports athletes. Doping violates the Spirit of Sport and is thought to contradict the values which underpin this spirit. Values-based education (VBE) has been cited as a key element for creating a clean sport culture across age groups. Culturally relevant VBE requires understanding of the values that motivate athletes from different countries to practice their sport and uphold clean sport values. WADA's new International Standards for Education makes this study both needed and timely. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt vecāku lomu bērna sporta karjeras veidošanā, noskaidrot vecāku motivāciju un saprast, cik lielā mērā vecāki iesaistās bērna sporta dzīvē. Darbā analizēta motivācijas teorija, gaidu motivēšanas teorija, gaidu vērtību teorija, kā arī izdegšanas teorija. Darba gaitā autore veic tiešsaistes anketēšanu, kurā piedalās 55 respondenti, Latvijas Sporta Deju Federācijas dalībnieku vecāki. Autore secina, ka vecākiem ir nozīmīga loma bērna sporta karjeras veidošanā; vecāki aktīvi iesaistās bērna sporta dzīvē un sniedz visu nepieciešamo finansiālo un emocionālo atbalstu. Darba mērķis - izpētīt Latvijas profesionālās ievirzes sporta izglītības procesa īstenošanu reglamentējošo regulējumu, lai noskaidrotu, vai Latvijas profesionālās ievirzes izglītība sportā ir pieejama bērniem un jauniešiem ar kustību traucējumiem. Darba pirmajā nodaļā skaidrota sporta cilvēkiem ar invaliditāti būtība un apskatīta tā vieta Latvijas sporta sistēmā. Otrajā nodaļa analizēta profesionālās ievirzes sporta izglītības jēdzieniskā būtība un vieta Latvijas izglītības un sporta sistēmā.
