SCARKER: A sensor capture resistance and key refreshing scheme for mobile WSNs

How to discover a captured node and to resist node capture attack is a challenging task in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). In this paper, we propose a node capture resistance and key refreshing scheme for mobile WSNs which is based on the Chinese remainder theorem. The scheme is able of providing forward secrecy, backward secrecy and collusion resistance for diminishing the effects of capture attacks. By implementing our scheme on a Sun SPOT based sensor network testbed, we demonstrate that the time for updating a new group key varies from 56 ms to 546 ms and the energy consumption is limited to 16.5–225 mJ, depending on the length of secret keys and the number of sensors in a group.

The effects of three remineralizing agents on regression of white spot lesions in children: A two-week, single-blind, randomized clinical trial.

Background This study investigated the effect of three remineralizing agents on improving white spot lesions (WSLs). Material and Methods This clinical trial included children who had at least one WSL on anterior teeth of upper or lower jaws. The participants were randomly assigned to 4 groups by treatment: 1) a cream containing casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate and fluoride (MI Paste Plus); 2) a cream containing hydroxyapatite and fluoride (Remin Pro); 3) a 2% sodium fluoride gel; and 4) usual home care (control). Publisher Summary This chapter provides an overview of what is known about carotenoid metabolism in Chlamydomonas with reference to other green algae and vascular plants. The biosynthesis of carotenoids and the subdivisions of carotenogenesis are described. With respect to subcellular distribution, the carotenoids in vegetative cells localize to the chloroplast where they either serve as photosynthetic pigments bound to the protein complexes of the two photosystems, or as components of the eyespot apparatus is outlined with its functional significance. Carotenoids can serve as precursors of a number of other molecules with important physiological functions in Chlamydomonas.

Abstract Objectives To evaluate emotions and opinions of Italian adolescents aged 13-18 years old about different anti-tobacco spots delivered by the mass media campaigns over the world. Predator mimicry, not conspicuousness, explains the efficacy of butterfly eyespots

Large conspicuous eyespots on butterfly wings have been shown to deter predators. This has been traditionally explained by mimicry of vertebrate eyes, but recently the classic eye-mimicry hypothesis has been challenged. It is proposed that the conspicuousness of the eyespot, not mimicry, is what causes aversion due to sensory biases, neophobia or sensory overloads.
