An improvement of NFC-SEC with signed exchanges for an e-prescription-based application
2013
International audience; In the context of an aging population, drug intake can be a potential source of errors leading to death in some cases. Almost all of these errors are unintentional and come from incorrect prescriptions, unsuitable dosages for the patient or incompatibility with other treatments. To limit these risks which are especially important in the elderly or pre-dependency, we propose a secure system for drug treatment through the NFC (Near Field Communication) contact-less communication technology. The proposed system provides security mechanisms such as integrity, authentication, encryption and non-repudiation. To ensure this security, an extension of the international standa…
Bremsstrahlung from a repulsive potential: attosecond pulse generation
2008
The collision of an electron against a repulsive potential in the presence of a laser field is investigated. It is found that a sufficiently strong laser field forces the electron to remain in the neighbourhood of the repulsive potential causing bremsstrahlung. By appropriately filtering the emitted signal, an electron in the presence of a repulsive potential is capable of generating attosecond pulses.
Thermal-, pressure- and light-induced spin-crossover behviour in the two-dimensional Hofman-like coordination polymer [Fe(3-Clpy)2Pd(CN)4]
2013
The thermal spin-crossover behaviour, photoexcitation and subsequent relaxation, as well as the pressure-induced spincrossover behaviour at 298 K are discussed for the non-porous two-dimensional Hofmann-like coordination polymer [Fe(3-Clpy)(2)Pd(CN)(4)] (1). The title compound undergoes a two-step, cooperative thermal-induced SCO with critical temperatures T-c1(down arrow) = 159.6 K and T-c1(up arrow) = 164.5 K for the first step and T-c2(down arrow) = 141.4 K and T-c2(up arrow) = 148.4 K for the second step. Irradiation of the low-spin state with green light (514 nm) at 10 K induced the photoexcitation of around 60% of the iron(II) centres to the high-spin state (LIESST effect). The subseq…
Cyanocarbanion-based spin-crossover materials: photocrystallographic and photomagnetic studies of a new iron(II) neutral chain
2010
International audience; A new iron(II) chain of formula [Fe(abpt)(2)(tcpd)] [1; (tcpd)(2-) = [C(10)N(6)](2-) = (C[C(CN)(2)](3))(2-) = 2-dicyanomethylene-1,1,3,3-tetracyanopropanediide anion, abpt = 4-amino-3,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole] has been synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, detailed variable-temperature single-crystal X-ray diffraction, magnetic and photomagnetic measurements. The crystal structure determination of 1 reveals a one-dimensional structural architecture in which the (tcpd)(2-) cyanocarbanion acts as a μ(2)-bridging ligand and the two abpt molecules act as chelating ligands. Detailed X-ray diffraction studies as a function of the temperature (293-10 K…
Photomagnetic properties of an Iron(II) low-spin complex with an unusually long-lived metastable LIESST state
2007
A comprehensive study of the photomagnetic behavior of the [Fe(L222N5)(CN)2].H2O complex has been carried out. This complex is characterized by a low-spin (LS) iron(II)-metal center up to 400 K and exhibits at 10 K the well-known Light-Induced Excited Spin State Trapping (LIESST) effect. The critical LIESST temperature (T(LIESST)) has been measured to be 105 K. The kinetics of the transition from the metastable high-spin (HS) state to the low-spin state have been determined and used for reproducing the experimental T(LIESST) curve. This study represents a second example of a fully low-spin iron(II)-metal complex up to 400 K, which can be photoexcited at low temperature with an atypical long…
Identifying Coping Profiles and Profile Differences in Role Engagement and Subjective Well-Being
2014
Coping strategies are not necessarily mutually exclusive and can be used simultaneously, a fact which has rarely been examined in coping research. We examined what kinds of coping profiles could be found in data concerning Finnish health care and service employees (n = 2756). We also studied whether role engagement (family-to-work-enrichment, work-to-family-enrichment, emotional energy at work, and work engagement) and subjective well-being (life, parental, and marital satisfaction, and psychological distress) differ between coping profiles. The data were analyzed through latent profile (LPA) and covariance analyses (Ancovas). LPA revealed seven distinct coping profiles: two active groups,…

Interplay of Antiferromagnetic Coupling and Spin Crossover in Dinuclear Iron(II) Complexes
2003
This article reports on the study of the interplay between magnetic coupling and spin transition in 2,2′-bipyrimidine (bpym)-bridged iron(II) dinuclear compounds. Coexistence of both phenomena has been observed in [Fe(bpym)(NCS)2]2bpym, [Fe(bpym)(NCSe)2]2bpym and [Fe(bt)(NCS)2]2bpym (bpym = 2,2′-bipyrimidine, bt = 2,2′-bithiazoline) by the action of external physical factors namely pressure or electromagnetic radiation. Competition between magnetic exchange and spin crossover has been studied in [Fe(bpym)(NCS)2]2bpym at 6.3 kbar. LIESST experiments carried out in [Fe(bpym)(NCSe)2]2bpym and [Fe(bt)(NCS)2]2bpym at 4.2 K have shown that is possible to achieve dinuclear molecules with different…
X-ray structure study of the light-induced metastable states of the spin-crossover compound [Fe(mtz)6](BF4)2
2001
Iron(II) complexes exhibiting thermal spin-crossover may be converted from the1A1low-spin (LS) state to the5T2high-spin (HS) state by irradiation with green light (light-induced excited spin-state trapping, LIESST) and from the LS to the HS state by irradiation with red light (reverse LIESST). The lifetime of the metastable LIESST states may be sufficiently long to enable an X-ray diffraction study. The lattice parameters of a single crystal of [Fe(mtz)6](BF4)2(mtz = methyltetrazole) (space groupP21/n) were measured between 300 and 10 K. While one Fe lattice site (A) of the crystal changes from the HS to the LS state near 78 K, the other site (B) remains in the LS state. Using the green lig…
Thermal-,Pressure-, and Light-Induced Spin Transition in Novel Cyanide-Bridged FeII-AgI Bimetallic Compounds with Three-Dimensional Interpenetrating …
2002
[EN] Low-spin, high-spin and spin-transition behaviours have been observed for the doubly interpenetrating three-dimensional bimetallic compounds {Fe-II(pz)[Ag(CN)(2)](2)}.pz (pz= pyrazine), {Fe-II(4,4'-bipy)(2)[Ag(CN)(2)](2)} (4,4'-bipy-4,4'-bipyridine), and {Fe-II-(bpe)(2)[Ag(CN)(2)](2)} (bpe = bispyridylethylene), respectively. The single crystals of the bpe derivative undergo a spin transition with a large hysteresis loop at about 95 K. After several warming and cooling cycles, the single crystals become a microcrystalline powder with 50% spin transition. Influence of pressure- as well as light-induced excited spin-state trapping (LIESST) on the thermal 50% spin transition of the microc…
