Semantic web service discovery system for road traffic information services

2015

Create a multi-agent platform for a traveller information system (FIPA standards).Extend Paulucci algorithm with the use of seven similarity measures.Weight the similarity measure according to semantic relation and parameter nature.Improved running-time with a filtering pre-process for non-functional parameters.Improved the recall by measuring the sibling relationship concepts. We describe a multi-agent platform for a traveller information system, allowing travellers to find the road traffic information web service (WSs) that best fits their requirements. After studying existing proposals for discovery of semantic WS, we implemented a hybrid matching algorithm, which is described in detail …

Semantic Portal for Legislative Information

2006

Semantic portals enabled by Semantic Web technologies have been suggested to provide a point of access to an integrated body of information about some domain. In the area of e-Government there are multiple possible domains for semantic portals, one of them being legislative work. In this paper we propose a semantic portal based on a rich metadata repository to support the retrieval of legislative information. The portal provides process oriented semantic browsing capabilities. A prototype of the portal has been implemented for the retrieval of Finnish legislative information.

Combining OWL ontologies usingE-Connections

2006

The standardization of the Web Ontology Language (OWL) leaves (at least) two crucial issues for Web-based ontologies unsatisfactorily resolved, namely how to represent and reason with multiple distinct, but linked ontologies, and how to enable effective knowledge reuse and sharing on the Semantic Web. In this paper, we present a solution for these fundamental problems based on E-Connections. We aim to use E-Connections to provide modelers with suitable means for developing Web ontologies in a modular way and to provide an alternative to the owl:imports construct. With such motivation, we present in this paper a syntactic and semantic extension of the Web Ontology language that covers E-Conn…

Active Learning System in the Context of the Social Semantic Web

2013

In this paper we present the concept and the implementation of an Active Semantic Learning System that takes advantage of the Social Semantic Web in order to deliver an efficient and personalized learning experience to the learner. Active participation of the learner is encouraged through the social learning approach and through techniques that adapt the learning content to learners' needs and preferences. The semantic layer allows us to define a common understanding of the data used to describe the objects in the learning system. The objects in the learning system are described using semantic web technologies. Domain ontologies and explicit logic rules are defined in order to allow data in…

Using UDDI for Publishing Metadata of the Semantic Web

2006

Although UDDI does not provide support for semantic search, retrieval and storage, it is already accepted as an industrial standard and a huge number of services already store their service specifications in UDDI. Objective of this paper is to analyze possibilities and ways to use UDDI registry to allow utilization of meta-data encoded according to Semantic Web standards for semantic-based description, discovery and integration of web resources in the context of needs of two research projects: “Adaptive Services Grid” and “SmartResource”. We present an approach of mapping RDFS upper concepts to UDDI data model using tModel structure, which makes possible to store semantically annotated reso…

A Web Centric Semantic Mediation Approach for Spatial Information Systems

2006

International audience; Semantic mediation is increasingly at the heart of the design of emerging webbased information systems, particularly spatial information systems thatrequire the integration or interoperation of a collection of heterogeneousdata sources. Ontologies are increasingly used to represent agreed semantic ofapplications by providing formal description models and related tools toexplicitly specify the conceptual entities of an application. Past research intraditional database integration has identified key issues in the resolution ofvarious structural and semantic conflicts. Recent research effort has extendedthis early research to address the interoperability of spatial info…

Synthesis, Structural, Thermal and Magnetic Characterization of a Pyrophosphato‐Bridged Cobalt(II) Complex

2008

The reaction in water of CoII sulfate heptahydrate with 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and sodium pyrophosphate (Na4P2O7) in a 2:4:1 stoichiometric ratio resulted in the crystallization of a neutral dinuclear CoII complex, {[Co(phen)2]2(μ-P2O7)}·6MeOH (1), as revealed by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. The bridging pyrophosphato ligand between the two [Co(phen)2]2+ units in a bis(bidentate) coordination mode places the adjacent metal centers at 4.857 A distance, and its conformation gives rise to intramolecular π–π stacking interaction between adjacent phen ligands. Indeed, intermolecular π–π stacking interactions between phen ligands from adjacent dinuclear complexes create a supramo…

Is the French mobile phone cartel really a cartel?

2009

International audience; France Telecom (FT), SFR and Bouygues Telecom (BT) have been fined by France's Conseil de la Concurrence (CC) for organizing a mobile phone cartel with stable market shares (one-half, one-third and one-sixth, respectively) and for directly exchanging commercial information. While not contesting the legal decision, it is argued here that the economic reasoning is flawed. (1) As the CC made much of the firms' stable market shares, we have first followed this line of reasoning by considering that the market shares are quotas under uniform costs. Even if there is a general incentive to form a monopolistic cartel, BT was too small for it to be worth its while to join it; it i…

Length-scale effects in the nucleation of extended dislocations in nanocrystalline Al by molecular-dynamics simulation

2001

The nucleation of extended dislocations from the grain boundaries in nanocrystalline aluminum is studied by molecular-dynamics simulation. The length of the stacking fault connecting the two Shockley partials that form the extended dislocation, i.e., the dislocation splitting distance, rsplit, depends not only on the stacking-fault energy but also on the resolved nucleation stress. Our simulations for columnar grain microstructures with a grain diameter, d, of up to 70 nm reveal that the magnitude of rsplit relative to d represents a critical length scale controlling the low-temperature mechanical behavior of nanocrystalline materials. For rsplit>d, the first partials nucleated from the bou…
