The Origin, Location, and Projections of the Embryonic Abdominal Motorneurons ofDrosophila

We have used a retrograde labeling technique to identify motorneurons for each of the 30 body wall muscles of an abdominal hemisegment in the late stage 16Drosophilaembryo. Each motorneuron has a characteristic cell body position, dendritic arborization, and axonal projection. In addition, we have determined the neuroblasts of origin for most of the motorneurons we describe. Near Real-Time Data Warehousing with Multi-stage Trickle and Flip

A data warehouse typically is a collection of historical data designed for decision support, so it is updated from the sources periodically, mostly on a daily basis. Today’s business however asks for fresher data. Real-time warehousing is one of the trends to accomplish this, but there are a number of challenges to move towards true real-time. This paper proposes ‘Multi-stage Trickle & flip’ methodology for data warehouse refreshment. It is based on the ‘Trickle & flip’ principle and extended in order to further insulate loading and querying activities, thus enabling both of them to be more efficient.

Relationships between adolescent physical fitness and adult health-related fitness were investigated. Forty-five subjects (20 males, 25 females) participated in physical fitness tests in 1976 and again in 2001. The adolescent physical fitness tests were distance running (2,000 m for boys or 1,500 m for girls), 50 m run, pull-ups (boys) or flexed arm hangs (girls), shuttle run, a 30-sec sit-up test, standing broad jump, hand grip-test, and sit-and-reach test. A theorem for Poisson convergence on realizations of two-dimensional Branching Random Walks with an underlying continuous time Markov Branching Process is proved. We aimed to evaluate the global, regional, and national mortality burden associated with non-optimal ambient temperatures. Understanding the evolutionary transition from interspecific exploitation to cooperation is a major challenge in evolutionary biology. Ant-aphid relationships represent an ideal system to this end because they encompass a coevolutionary continuum of interactions ranging from mutualism to antagonism. In this study, we report an unprecedented interaction along this continuum: aggressive mimicry in aphids.
