Combination of Searches for Invisible Higgs Boson Decays with the ATLAS Experiment
2019
Dark matter particles, if sufficiently light, may be produced in decays of the Higgs boson. This Letter presents a statistical combination of searches for H → invisible decays where H is produced according to the standard model via vector boson fusion, Z(ℓℓ)H, and W/Z(had)H, all performed with the ATLAS detector using 36.1 fb⁻¹ of pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of √s = 13 TeV at the LHC. In combination with the results at √s = 7 and 8 TeV, an exclusion limit on the H → invisible branching ratio of 0.26(0.17-0.05+0.07) at 95% confidence level is observed (expected).
AIR LIMBAH LAUNDRY : KARAKTERISTIK DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP KUALITAS AIR
2020
At present the laundry business is one of the promising businesses with targeted consumers from the upper middle class who do not have much time to wash clothes at home. Like other industries, laundry also produces wastewater that can have a negative impact on the environment if it is not managed properly. This study characterizes laundry wastewater and looks at its effect on the quality to the groundwater/wells close to the laundry business. Water samples include TSS, TDS, Turbidity, pH , COD, BOD, Phosphate, and Detergent parameters analyzed according to SNI and/or the HACH method (DR3900). Characterization of the laundry wastewater samples show a high level of detergent and phosphate par…
Search for eta and eta ' -> pi(+)e(-)(v)over-bar(e) + c.c. decays in J/psi -> phi eta and phi eta '
2013
Using a sample of 225.3 million J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII e(+)e(-) collider in 2009, searches for the decays of eta and eta' -> pi(+)e(-)(v) over bar (e) + c.c. in J/psi -> phi eta and phi eta' are performed. The phi signals, which are reconstructed in K+K- final states, are used to tag eta and eta' semileptonic decays. No signals are observed for either eta or eta', and upper limits at the 90% confidence level are determined to be 7.3 x 10(-4) and 5.0 x 10(-4) for the ratios B(eta ->pi(+)e(-)(v) over bar (e) + c.c)/B(eta ->pi(+)pi(-)pi(0)) and B(eta'->pi(+)e(-)(v) over bar (e) + c.c)/B(eta'->pi(+)pi(-)eta) respectively. These are the first upper- limit v…
Accessibility of the Italian institutional web pages: a survey on the compliance of the Italian public administration web pages to the Stanca Act and…
2014
Accessibility of the Italian public administration web pages is ruled by the Stanca Act and in particular the Decree of the Minister issued on July 8, 2005. In this paper, an objective test is performed on the official web pages of the Italian province and region chief towns to check their compliance to the 22 technical requirements defined by the Stanca Act. A sample of 976 web pages belonging to the websites of the Italian chief towns have been downloaded in the period October---December 2012. Such a data collection has been submitted to Achecker, the worldwide recognized syntax and accessibility validation service. Several accessibility and syntax errors have been found following the aut…
Detection of Internet robots using a Bayesian approach
2015
A large part of Web traffic on e-commerce sites is generated not by human users but by Internet robots: search engine crawlers, shopping bots, hacking bots, etc. In practice, not all robots, especially the malicious ones, disclose their identities to a Web server and thus there is a need to develop methods for their detection and identification. This paper proposes the application of a Bayesian approach to robot detection based on characteristics of user sessions. The method is applied to the Web traffic from a real e-commerce site. Results show that the classification model based on the cluster analysis with the Ward's method and the weighted Euclidean metric is very effective in robot det…
Usability analysis and visualization of Web 2.0 applications
2008
Nowadays companies and home users use Web sites offering services ranging from Web sites up to complex Web applications. Often the ergonomics of these applications remains unconsidered and they turn out to be hard to use. In order to examine the usability from within the Web applications, information about the usage of the application is collected. The techniques that have been used in the past for Web 1.0 are no longer adequate. Ajax programs (Web 2.0) are more flexible and require other techniques. This paper shows techniques for collection, analysis, processing and visualization of data for Web 2.0 applications.
Non-Technological Aspects on Web Searching Success
2008
This paper studies the influence of social, cultural and emotional background of typical Web users into the web searching process. Several variables, describing such aspects, are represented and statistically analyzed with well known clustering and classifying algorithms such, as COBWEB, J48, Bayes classification, and Correspondence analysis. Results indicate that the efficiency of the complete process of Information Retrieval will not be fully understood without considering subjectivity and personality facts.
Web access for people with visual disability
2012
This paper addresses the evaluation of a prototype of the Inclusite® solution, designed to enable web accessibility for visual disabled people. The interface provides the help from the Web and avoids users' dependence on software and devices normally used by them. An expert in typhlotechnology makes usability tests of Inclusite® interface, consisting of keyboard navigation combined with voice synthesis (synthesis of voice reads to the user the selections made from the keyboard). The evaluation of the initiative is very positive as it will contribute to reduction of costs by the users, not needing to purchase specific software, as well as reducing their dependence on the use of their own equ…
Accessibility of Public Web Services: A Distant Dream?
2013
Part 1: Long and Short Papers; International audience; Today, many public services are available online through Web sites. The accessibility of the sites, also to people with disabilities, is important because the accessibility concerns equality of citizens, a cornerstone of democracy. In the current study we carried out a meta-analysis of 17 studies concerning the accessibility of the Web sites of public administration. Furthermore, we assessed the accessibility of Web pages of 12 ministries of the Finnish government. The assessments were based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). The results showed that in terms of the WCAG guidelines, the average accessibility of public We…
Semantic web technologies for facilities management
2007
Facility management is the practice of coordinating the physical workplace with the people and work of the organization. It integrates the principles of business administration, architecture and the behavioral and engineering sciences. To deal with these requirements, we have developed a framework based on Semantic Web technologies: RDF, OWL, SWRL and named graph. This framework, called C-DMF, allows facilities manager to organize all knowledge generating during building lifecycle in end-user contextual graphs.
