Context: In preparation for the COROT mission, an exhaustive photometric study of Be stars located in the seismology fields of the COROT mission has been performed. The very precise and long-time-spanned photometric observations gathered by the COROT satellite will give important clues of the origin of the Be phenomenon. The genesis of mathematical concepts in the evolutionary line of human thought in the long story and the genesis in individual optics possess evident analogies. Starting from this assumption, we describe an activity presented to 15-year-old students; the aim was to consolidate fundamental concepts of Euclidean geometry related to regular polygons. The experimentation has used a didactic approach based on the historical evolution of the formal definition of regular star polygon through the centuries. The activity and the results obtained in terms of internalization of the concepts in the students are showed.

The structure of coronal plasma in active stellar coronae from density measurements

We have analyzed high-resolution X-ray spectra of a sample of 22 active stars observed with the High Energy Transmission Grating Spectrometer (HETGS) on Chandra in order to investigate their coronal plasma density, using the lines of the He-like ions O VII, Mg XI, and Si XIII. Si XII lines in all stars of the sample axe compatible with the low-density limit (i.e. n(e) = 10(30) erg/s); O VII lines yield much lower densities of a few 10(10) cm(-3). Our results indicate that the "hot" and "cool" plasma resides in physically different structures. Asiakastarinat kuluttajan ostopolulla kodin rakentamiseen ja remontointiin liittyvissä hankinnoissa

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kartoittaa tietämystä siitä, millaisia merkityksiä asiakastarinoilla on kuluttajalle kuluttajan ostopolun eri vaiheissa kodin rakentamiseen ja remontointiin liittyvissä hankinnoissa. Tutkimus toteutettiin laadullisin menetelmin teemahaastatteluna. Tutkimuksessa haastateltiin 17 kuluttajaa, jotka olivat ostaneet kodin rakentamiseen tai remontoitiin liittyvän tuotteen tai palvelun tutkimukseen valikoituneilta yrityksiltä. Kohdeyrityksiä tutkimuksessa oli yhteensä neljä, joista jokainen hyödynsi asiakastarinoita markkinointiviestinnässään. Aineiston analyysimenetelmänä hyödynnettiin teemoittelua.
