Communication: Rotational excitation of interstellar heavy water by hydrogen molecules

Cross sections and rate coefficients for low lying rotational transitions in D(2)O induced by para-H(2) collisions are presented for the first time. Calculations have been performed at the close-coupling level with the deuterated variant of the H(2)O-H(2) interaction potential of Valiron et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 129, 134306 (2008)]. Rate coefficients are presented for temperatures between 1 and 30 K and are compared to the corresponding rate coefficients for H(2)O. Significant differences caused by the isotopic substitution are observed and are attributed to both kinematics and intramolecular geometry effects. Ievads. 2012.gada veiktajā pētījumā tika iegūti dati, ka Latvijā Helicobacter Pylori (HP) izplatība pieaugušo populācijā ir augstā līmenī – 79.21%. Prezentētajā pētījumā tika analizēta HP infekcijas izplatība saistībā ar sociāli-demogrāfiskiem faktoriem - dalībnieku izglītības līmeni, nodarbinātību, vidējiem ienākumiem, ģimenes stāvokli, smēķēšanas paradumiem Latvijas iedzīvotājiem. Acs struktūru novērtēšana ar spektroskopijas metodi

Darba mērķis ir pārbaudīt metodi neinvazīvai dažādu vielu un to koncentrācijas noteikšanai asinīs, izmantojot UV un VIS spektrometriju. Darbā apskatīta iespēja ar atstarošanās spektrometrijas metodi noteikt hromoforu (hemoglobīnu) un skābekļa koncentrāciju asinīs, izmantojot acs konjunktīvas asinsvadus. Darba laikā uzņemti vairāki vielu references spektri, veikta acs modeļa izveide un izpēte dažādu spektrometrijas metožu pielietošanai acs struktūru izpētē. Anti-rat liver microsomal and cytosolic antibodies in hepatitis C virus infection.

In order to assess the frequency of autoimmunity markers in hepatitis C virus infection, 229 RIBA 2 HCV positive individuals were tested by ELISA and Immunoblot assay using as antigen rat liver microsomal and cytosolic proteins. Twenty-one out of 229 individuals (9%) showed anti-rat liver microsome antibodies by ELISA, but the titre was low (1:100 to 1:1,600). In Immunoblot, only 5 of these 21 ELISA positive sera recognized also rat liver microsomal proteins (MW between 30 to 64 kDa). Antibodies against rat liver cytosolic proteins were found by ELISA in 14 out of 229 individuals (6%). Three of them showed a reactivity in Immunoblot to 42 kDa or 55 kDA proteins. Aims. We add four warmer late-type supergiants to our previous spectro-interferometric studies of red giants and supergiants. Methods. We measure the near-continuum angular diameter, derive fundamental parameters, discuss the evolutionary stage, and study extended atmospheric atomic and molecular layers. Results. V766 Cen (=HR 5171 A) is found to be a high-luminosity (log L/L = 5.8 ± 0.4) source of effective temperature 4290 ± 760 K and radius 1490 ± 540 R, located in the Hertzsprung-Russell (HR) diagram close to both the Hayashi limit and Eddington limit; this source is consistent with a 40 M evolutionary track without rotation and current mass 27-36 M. Identification in the rat brain of a set of nuclear proteins interacting with H1° mRNA

Synthesis of H1° histone, in the developing rat brain, is also regulated at post-transcriptional level. Regulation of RNA metabolism depends on a series of RNA-binding proteins (RBPs); therefore, we searched for H1° mRNA-interacting proteins. With this aim, we used in vitro transcribed, biotinylated H1° RNA as bait to isolate, by a chromatographic approach, proteins which interact with this mRNA, in the nuclei of brain cells. Abundant RBPs, such as heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) K and hnRNP A1, and molecular chaperones (heat shock cognate 70, Hsc70) were identified by mass spectrometry.
