Onkoloģisko slimību skaits ar katru gadu pieaug, tāpēc agrīnai diagnosticēšanai ir liela nozīme. Bakalaura darba tēma „Vīriešu līdzestība prostatas vēža skrīningā”. Pētījuma aktualitāti noteica statistiski apstiprināts fakts, ka prostatas vēzis ir viens no izplatītākajām onkoloģiskām slimībām Latvijā vīriešu vidū. Hipotēze: Vīriešu līdzestība prostatas vēža skrīningā būtiski ietekmē agrīnu slimības diagnosticēšanu. Darba mērķis: Noskaidrot vīriešu līdzestību prostatas vēža skrīninga programmas ietvaros. High-spin states beyond the proton drip-line: Quasiparticle alignments in Cs-113

Excited states have been studied in the deformed proton emitter 113Cs. Gamma-ray transitions have been unambiguously assigned to 113Cs by correlation with its characteristic proton decay, using the method of recoil-decay tagging. Two previously identified rotational bands have been observed and extended to tentative spins of 45/2 and 51/2 h¯, with excitation energies over 8 MeV above the lowest state. These are the highest angular momenta and excitation energies observed to date in any nucleus beyond the proton drip-line. Transitions in the bands have been rearranged compared to previous work. Exploring fast proton transfer events associated with lateral proton diffusion on the surface of membranes

Proton diffusion (PD) across biological membranes is a fundamental process in many biological systems, and much experimental and theoretical effort has been employed for deciphering it. Here, we report on a spectroscopic probe, which can be tightly tethered to the membrane, for following fast (nanosecond) proton transfer events on the surface of membranes. Our probe is composed of a photoacid that serves as our light-induced proton source for the initiation of the PD process. The aim of the article is to present the current state of research on the paremiography and paremiology of Cieszyn Silesia. The first part presents and describes collections of proverbs from the region of Cieszyn, from the end of the 19th century to contemporary times. The second one discusses theoretical works (including folkloristic, linguistic, linguistic and cultural ones) dealing with the problems of proverbs from the region of Cieszyn, investigated in yarious contexts and from different research perspectives.

At the same time, the evolution of the main indicators from 2006-2018 is presented. Unlawful Aid and Public Undertakings: Vertical Direct Effect of Article 108(3), third sentence TFEU

This paper addresses the position of public undertakings that may appear in a State aid law-related context in their capacity of intermediaries or grantors of aid vis-à-vis Article 108(3), third sentence, TFEU, to check whether the standstill obligation directly applies to public undertakings where they act to grant or disburse State aid. Public undertakings must refrain from granting aid in breach of the standstill obligation, as addressees of the standstill obligation. Where a public undertaking fails to apply Article 108(3) TFEU, it opens itself to claims based on Union law, including claims for damages. Union law is stated as it stood on 20 June 2021.

Selective writing and read-out of a register of static qubits

We propose a setup comprising an arbitrarily large array of static qubits (SQs), which interact with a flying qubit (FQ). The SQs work as a quantum register, which can be written or read-out by means of the FQ through quantum state transfer (QST). The entire system, including the FQ's motional degrees of freedom, behaves quantum mechanically. We demonstrate a strategy allowing for selective QST between the FQ and a single SQ chosen from the register. This is achieved through a perfect mirror located beyond the SQs and suitable modulation of the inter-SQ distances.
