A Space-Vector State Dynamic Model of the Synchronous Reluctance Motor Including Self and Cross-Saturation Effects and its Parameters Estimation

2018

This paper proposes a space-vector dynamic model of the Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) including both self-saturation and cross-saturation effects and selecting as state variables the stator currents. The proposed dynamic model is based on an original function between the stator flux and stator current components, and relies on 8 coefficients (fewer than other models in the scientific literature), presenting an interesting physical interpretation. Starting from this approach, both the static and dynamic inductances expressions of the model have been analytically developed, so that the reciprocity conditions for the cross saturation is satisfied. This paper presents also a technique fo…

Space-vector State Dynamic Model of the Synchronous Reluctance Motor Considering Self, Cross-Saturation and Iron Losses

2021

This paper proposes a space-vector dynamic model of the Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) including both self-saturation, cross-saturation effects, and iron losses expressed in state form, where the magnetizing current has been selected as a state variable. The proposed dynamic model is based on an original function between the stator flux and the magnetizing current components, improving a previously developed magnetic model. Additionally, the proposed model includes, besides the magnetic saturation, also iron losses. The proposed model requires 11 coefficients, among which 6 describe the self-saturation on both axes and 5 describe the cross-saturation. Starting from the definition of a…

Diagnosis of inverter-fed induction motors in short time windows using physics-assisted deep learning framework

2019

This article presents a framework for accurate fault diagnostics in inverter-fed induction machinery operating under variable speed and load conditions within very short time windows. Condition indicators based on fault characteristic frequencies observed over the extended Park's vector modulus are fused with deep features extracted using stacked autoencoders to generate a multidimensional feature space for fault classification using support vector machine. The proposed approach is demonstrated in a laboratory setup to detect the most commonly occurring faults, namely, the stator turns fault, broken rotor bars fault and bearing fault with an accuracy > 98% within a short time window of 2–3 …

Les perceptions gustatives chez l'enfant

2005

As soon as the end of gestation, the gustatory system is stimulated by the taste-active compounds carried by the amniotic fluid and its maturation continues until mid-childhood. Facial expressions and relative ingestion methods show that the newborn can discriminate the various taste qualities (bitter, salty, sour, sweet and umami). The range of individual responses is wide. Neonatal reactions to sweet and umami are generally considered to express pleasure. The bitter and sour stimulations lead to hedonically negative reactions. The response to salt taste is less characteristic. Overall, the attraction towards sweet and the rejection of bitter and sour tastes become more pronounced during c…

Sur la piste du « goût du gras »

2006

Sense of taste informs the body about the quality of ingested foods. Five sub-modalities allowing the perception of sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami stimuli are classically depicted in Human. However, the spontaneous attraction of mammals for fatty foods raises the possibility of an additional oro-sensory modality devoted to the fat perception. During a long time, oro-sensory perception of dietary lipids was thought to take place only through textural and retronasal olfactory cues. This minireview analyses recent findings showing that the gustation can also play a significant role in the dietary lipid perception.

Diagnostics of stator winding failures in wind turbine pitch motors using Vold-Kalman filter

2019

Pitch systems are among the most failure-prone components in wind turbines. Winding failures in pitch motors are common due to high start-up loads and poor ventilation. This article presents a diagnostics scheme that can detect the stator winding failures in the pitch motors under time-varying speed and load conditions. The proposed approach based on three-phase motor currents can be directly integrated into the motor drive and can be used for induction as well as permanent magnet synchronous machines. The extended Park's vector calculated on the motor currents is order tracked based on the supply frequency from the drive using Vold-Kalman filter. The approach is shown to be robust under ar…

Sensitivity to allyl isothiocyanate, dimethyl trisulfide, sinigrin, and cooked cauliflower consuption

2006

International audience; The consumption of cauliflower consumers has been related to the olfactory and gustatory sensitivities to potentially objectionable flavor compounds in this vegetable. Based on the ascending concentration series method of limits, a first experiment was designed to develop rapid tests dedicated to estimate individuals' olfactory thresholds for allyl isothiocyanate (AITC) and dimethyl trisulfide (DMTS) and gustatory thresholds for sinigrin (SIN). The best compromise between rapidity and reliability was obtained with two replications of a four-alternative forced choice (AFC) at six ascending concentrations (6×2×4-AFC) for both AITC and DMTS, and with a 6×1×4-AFC for SIN…

Etude du contrôle hédonique de la prise alimentaire par l'analyse des potentiels évoqués gustatifs

2016

Hedonic control of food intake has been studied using neurophysiological investigations in animals and functional imaging in humans. Gustatory evoked potentials (GEPs), a higher time resolution technique than functional imaging, have never been used for this purpose. The first aim of this thesis was to establish a reliable recording of GEPs in humans, in response to a sapid stimulus. The second aim was to determine the GEPs modifications according to the hedonic value of food intake. GEPs recording was performed in response to an intermittent stimulation of a sapid solution in more than 100 young healthy subjects. The comparisons between cerebral recordings in response to water or paraffin …

Gustatory evoked potentials activity and fatty taste

2015

International audience; Introduction: Gustatory evoked potentials (GEP), detected in response to an intermittent stimulation of the gustatory receptors by a primary flavor, are a reliable and safe record of the human gustatory function. We previously highlighted the modifications of GEP in response to saccharose stimulation by the concentration of the saccharose solution and its hedonic sensation. Fatty taste might be considered as the sixth primary flavor. We aimed to demonstrate that GEP in response to fatty taste stimulation do exist, and to compare these GEP with the GEP in response to saccharose and salty taste. Methods: Healthy and voluntary male subjects were included. Each subject un…
