The present contribution focuses on the strategies carried out to hinder depopulation and facilitate the recovery of the historical city centres in Sicily in the last fifty years. In particular, the essay analyses if the strategies and initiatives fostered in this field had been respectful of the physical characteristics of these small towns. Wooden ceilings characterize many baroque churches in Sicily and they have a particular meaning in the spatial conception of the architecture because of the false dome prospective painted on. For such a reason they are able to dominate the baroque architectural spatiality being a planar surface. Tässä pro gradu-tutkielmassa tarkasteltiin tyypin 1 diabetesta sairastavien nuorten psykologista joustavuutta, mielialaa ja elämänlaatua kohderyhmässä, jossa hoitotasapaino on heikko. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli kartoittaa nuorten masennus- ja ahdistuneisuusoireiden sekä elämänlaadun tasoa. Lisäksi tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tarkastella hoitotasapainon yhteyttä elämänlaatuun sekä masennus- ja ahdistuneisuusoireisiin. Suomessa tyypin 1 diabeteksen esiintyvyys on maailman korkeinta ja monen diabeetikon verensokerit ovat vaarallisen korkeita. Hyvän hoitotasapainon saavuttamiseksi elinikäisen sairauden hoidossa tarvitaan perinteisten menetelmien lisäksi myös psykologisia interventioita. Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa tarkasteltiin ryhmämuotoisen hyväksymis- ja omistautumisterapiaan pohjautuvan lyhyt intervention vaikutuksia tyypin 1 diabetesta sairastavien nuorten hoitotasapainoon sekä hyvinvointiin.
