There are many stereotypes about work in public sector. It is supposedly more stable, less hectic but in the same time offers smaller wages in comparison to a work in private sector. But does it provide more satisfaction to employees? The current study compares work satisfaction (Warr, Cook, & Wall, 1979) and subjective Well-being (Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffin, 1985) as dependent on subjective and objective wage evaluations (Brown, Gardner, Oswald, & Qian, 2008; Walczak, 2017) and Core Self-Evaluations (Judge, Locke, & Durham, 1997; Walczak & Derbis, 2015). Niniejszy tekst przedstawia wyniki analizy jakościowej i ilościowej wybranych materiałów edukacyjnych (podręczniki do nauki języka angielskiego). Analiza, dokonana przy użyciu aparatu pojęciowego pedagogiki krytycznej, dotyczyła sposobu prezentacji kwestii związanych z etnicznością, a jej celem była ocena badanego materiału pod kątem wzmacniania bądź minimalizowania stereotypów etnicznych oraz stopnia, w jakim podejście autorów/ek nacechowane jest podejściem europocentrycznym. W konkluzji pracy autorka zaznacza tendencję do przedstawiania w wybranych podręcznikach etniczności w sposób uproszczony i stereotypowy, co może zakłócać proces nabywania umiejętności międzykulturowych.

Women were and still are a subject of phrasemes. The aim of this paper is an answer to the question if the image of women arising from the Polish and German phraseology in the face of the transformations taking place in the last 40 years in the society has changed and if new phrasemes describing women of the 21st century appeared.

Demotivators are Internet hybrid texts, which reflect Internet users’ attitudes to politics, culture, sport, more or less famous individuals, and nations. A common topic expressed with demotivators is Russia and the Russians. However, the images of Russia projected by such demotivators are frequently stereotypical and negative, while graphic images employed in the Russian-themed hybrid texts can be classified into several categories. The subject matter of this article will be an intertextual analysis of the pivotal ball scenes in the novels Le Ravissement de Lol V. Stein by Marguerite Duras and La Princesse de Clèves by Madame de La Fayette. Despite the obvious differences in the poetics, creative visions, and styles of both writers, the reading of a 20th century literary work through the prism of the classic text exposes the stereotypes of love and a femme fatale also present in the novel by Duras.
