Topic tacrolimus, alternative treatment for oral erosive lichen planus resistant to steroids : a case report

The lichen planus is a mucocutaneous disease with unknown etiology and auto-immune pathogenia. There have been three variants of lichen planus: the reticular, the plaque-like and the atrophic-erosive lesions. It?s a chronic disease with acute relapses that generally affects more frecuently to women from the fourties. The diagnostic is based on the clinic identification of the lesions joined with the histopathologic study (basal cells hidropic degeneration, linfoplasmocitic infiltration and absence of displasy signs). Abstract .-AL ower andbasal Middle varcus Zone (Givetian, Middle Devonian) vertebrate association consisting of chondrichtyan teeth and scales of the genus Phoebodus is documented for the first time from the Aragonian Pyrenees of Spain. This record suggests that different teeth morphologies that were previously treated as separate taxa could be grouped in Phoebodus fastigatus. Moreover, the teeth and scales association is in agreement with the previously recons- tructed squamation pattern of this taxon.

Tumours originating from the ceruminous glands can be classified into five types: adenomas, adenocarcinomas, adenoid-cystic carcinomas, pleomorphic adenomas and mucoepidermoid carcinomas. The diagnosis is based on histological findings and can be quite difficult if the tumour status has to be determined. Classification into one of the five types of tumours may be facilitated at times by studying the clinical pattern. We grouped as oral lichenoid disease (OLD) a series of chronic inflammatory processes with autoimmune base that affect the epithelium of the oral mucosa. This disease presents in 2% of the population with a marked predilection for the female gender, especially perimenopausal women. Clinically, it is characterized by the presence of lineal reticular papules and histologically by liquefaction degeneration of the basal layer of the epithelium associated with an inflammatory infiltrate with a "band-like" disposition on the lamina propria, composed primarily of T lymphocyte cells. Mandibular metastasis from carcinoma of the bladder: Report of a case and literature review

Metastases represent about 1% of all malignant tumors of the oral region. Only 12 cases of metastases to the jawbones and 3 to the oral soft tissues from a carcinoma of the bladder are reported in the English literature. Here we report a case of an 86 year-old man with a metastasis to the anterior region of the lower jaw from a transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder treated 5 years before, all-together with a literature review.

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) derived from keratocystic odontogenic tumor is an extremely rare tumor that is limited to the jaws. Most intraosseous carcinomas originate from the epithelial lining of odontogenic cysts, so they are called odontogenic carcinomas. They occur more frequently in men and the mean age of patients is 57 years. The following report describes an extremely rare case of an odontogenic carcinoma derived from a keratocystic odontogenic tumor in a 20-year-old man.
