The effects on epilithic algae of increasing densities of two crayfish species, Austropotamobius italicus and Pacifastacus leniusculus, the latter recently introduced in Spain, have been monitored using riverine enclosures, within a large experimental study on crayfish-macrobenthos interactions in a mountain stream. A 3-month test was carried out for each species using crayfish densities comprising between 0-5 individuals/m2 kept in 1-m2 enclosures. Epilithon was sampled periodically within the enclosures and chlorophyll a, b and c were measured by spectrophotometry. Optimization of a Biotechnological Process for Production and Purification of Two Recombinant Proteins: Col G and Col H

Different strategies can be used for increasing production of heterologous recombinant proteins in Escherichia coli. Protein size is often critical for obtaining the best quantity/quality ratio of recombinant protein expression. This study focuses on two recombinant proteins; Class I and class II Collagenases, namely Col G and Col H. Their size is about 150 kDa each. We have developed a method to obtain high levels of cell growth and intracellular expression of each Collagenases in recombinant E. coli BL21(DE3). Web traffic characterization and modelling is currently a hot research issue. Low-level analysis of HTTP traffic on the server allows one to build adequate traffic models to be used in server benchmarking. High-level analysis of Web user behavior allows one to optimize website structure and develop personalized service strategies. In this paper, analysis of customer sessions in an online store is performed using Web server log data. The goal is to explore possible differences between sessions of customers viewing and purchasing innovative products, and customers only interested in traditional products.
