Physics teachers have an essential role in forming the attitudes and conceptions of future citizens towards science and technology, as well as in educating the future generations of scientists. Fysiikan ja musiikin oppiaineintegraatiosta on vähän tutkimusta, vaikka oppiaineet tarjoavat lukuisia mahdollisuuksia integroinnin toteuttamiseen. Integrointi auttaa tutkitusti muodostamaan opetettavista sisällöistä arjessa sovellettavia merkityksellisiä kokonaisuuksia. Classroom discussions: Possibilities and limitations for democratic classroom practices

Are students offered possibilities to experience democratic practice in classrooms? Using an analysis of empirical data from classroom discussions in lower secondary school, this article identifies and explores two different types of classroom discussions which give students different positions: a conversation in which students are positioned as ‘poll respondents’, and a more deliberative conversation which positions students as learning debaters. This article outlines a procedure that was used to develop a written test for evaluating the conceptual knowledge of chemical equilibrium constant among university students. The concepts in the subject matter were carefully defined through propositional statements. Students' understanding of the topic was determined through interviews. These data were used to produce nine multiple choice questions. Each question was designed to identify misconceptions related to the chemical equilibrium constant.
