Dynamics in the Field of Museums: Contemporary Challenges for Polish Museologists

The aim of this text is to present and analyze the attitudes of Polish museologists towards the changes currently taking place in the field of museums. More specifically, it will focus on their opinions regarding the evolution of museums—from the traditional model, based on symbolic violence, to the contemporary model, which accents the subjectivity of the audience. Live journalism is a new journalistic genre in which journalists present news stories to a live audience. This article investigates the journalistic manuscripts of live journalism performances. With the focus on texts, the article reaches beyond the live performance to explore the wider implications and potentials pioneered by live journalists. The figure of the Arendtian survey can be identified in the idea of the incomparability of the totalitarian phenomenon compared to previous forms of authoritarianism, for multiple and various reasons. Among these it is precisely the creation of the extermination camps, the systematic annihilation of human beings, the quid that makes totalitarianism irreducible to any political phenomenon of the past: the concentration camps, expression of nihilistic achievement, are for Arendt the event which, marking a clear historical fracture, stops the continuity of our tradition interrupted precisely by the realization of its own nihilistic dynamics.

Considering the most recent research on the condition of youth and the experiences of young people related to the pandemic time, this contribution intends to show an empirical research conducted through the phenomenological method with 190 male and female students, aged between 18 and 30, from the Primary Education Sciences courses at the University of Palermo. When psychologists step in the humanitarian field, they are confronted with cultural and language issues during their intervention. The way of expressing trauma is deeply linked with the cultural background, thus it should guide and shape the psychological support to make it more appropriate.
