Fuzzy logic-decision-making system dedicated to evaluation of logistics project effectiveness

2016

Background: Project effectiveness is synonymous with project success. It is measured or assessed in terms of the degree to which project objectives are achieved. This paper presents an approach to evaluating the effectiveness of logistics projects. The starting point is the analysis of the current state of knowledge in the area of assessing project effectiveness, including logistics projects. The purpose of the study was to identify the critical factors determining the success of logistics projects and develop a model of logistics project effectiveness. Methods: The paper is based on the available recent scientific-theoretical research and publications and on practical studies in 25 enterpr…

Zarządzanie relacjami z interesariuszami w projektach

2018

The challenge for enterprises to deliver successful projects in a climate of uncertainty is met by ensuring that stakeholders are engaged in a way that enhances their collaboration during project execution. The purpose of this paper is to present the most important characteristics of stakeholder relationship management in projects. The authors present a new approach to Company Stakeholder Responsibility that could be adopted for projects executed by enterprises and supply chains. The paper presents a case study based on a chosen logistics project.

Jet fragmentation transverse momentum distributions in pp and p-Pb collisions at √s, √sNN = 5.02 TeV

2021

Jet fragmentation transverse momentum (jT) distributions are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. Jets are reconstructed with the ALICE tracking detectors and electromagnetic calorimeter using the anti-kT algorithm with resolution parameter R = 0.4 in the pseudorapidity range |η| < 0.25. The jT values are calculated for charged particles inside a fixed cone with a radius R = 0.4 around the reconstructed jet axis. The measured jT distributions are compared with a variety of parton-shower models. Herwig and Pythia 8 based models describe the data well for the higher jT region, while they underestimate the low…

related to the perturbative component of the fragmentation processthe measured trends are successfully described by all models except for Herwig. For the wide componentHerwig and PYTHIA 8 based models slightly underestimate the data for the higher jet transverse momentum region. These measurements set constraints on models of jet fragmentation and hadronisation.Nuclear and High Energy Physicswhile that of the inverse gamma function increases with increasing jet transverse momentum. For the narrow componentHeavy Ion Experimentsand with a Gaussian for lower jT values (called the “narrow component”)hiukkasfysiikkawhile they underestimate the lower jT region. The jT distributions are further characterised by fitting them with a function composed of an inverse gamma function for higher jT values (called the “wide component”)predominantly connected to the hadronisation process. The width of the Gaussian has only a weak dependence on jet transverse momentumJet fragmentation transverse momentum (jT) distributions are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The trouble with vulnerability. Narrating ageing during the COVID-19 pandemic

2023

In this paper, we have used the exceptional circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic as a window for investigating the ambivalent, stereotypical and often-incongruent portrayals of exceptional vulnerability and resilient self-management that define the self-constructions available for older adults. From the onset of the pandemic, older adults were publicly and homogenously presented as a biomedically vulnerable population, and the implementation of restrictive measures also raised concerns over their psychosocial vulnerability and wellbeing. Meanwhile, the key political responses to the pandemic in most affluent countries aligned with the dominant paradigms of successful and active ag…

Resilienza ed inclusione

2017

Tree species influences diversity of ground-dwelling insects in afforested fields

2015

Abstract Impaired natural ecosystems, such as agricultural lands, are restored toward original or other target stage. Because the long agricultural history has changed the physical, chemical and biological features of the soil, afforested fields can harbor novel species assemblages and interactions. Our overall aim was to quantify the diversity of ground beetles and ants in early successional afforested fields. In a large scale field experiment, we compared plots that had been afforested 25 years ago by planting monocultures of birch, pine or spruce trees. A total of 4080 carabid individuals representing 41 species, and 131,933 ant individuals representing 15 species were recorded. Both the…

Dynamics of soil organic matter pools after agricultural abandonment

2014

Changes of land use from croplands to natural vegetation usually increase Carbon (C) stocks in soil. However, the contribution of old and new C to various pools still is not clearly analyzed. We measured the 13C signature of soil organic carbon (SOC) pools after vegetation change from vineyard (C3) to grassland (C4) under Mediterranean climate to assess the changes of old and new C in total SOC, microbial biomass (MB), dissolved organic C (DOC), and CO2 efflux from soil. Development of the perennial grass Hyparrhenia hirta (C4) on vineyard abandoned for 15 or 35 years ago increased C stocks for 13% and 16%, respectively (in the upper 15 cm). This increase was linked to the incorporation of n…
