Laboratory leaching studies of oryzalin and diuron through three undisturbed vineyard soil columns

2004

Article de revue (Article scientifique dans une revue à comité de lecture); International audience; The leaching of diuron and oryzalin through undisturbed soil columns was studied in the laboratory using three vineyard soils from Vosne-Romanée (Burgundy): a rendosol, a calcosol and a vegetated calcosol. After 845 mm of simulated rainfall in 15 days, soil leachates contained higher amounts of diuron (3.2%, 11.8% and 18.8% of applied diuron, respectively) than oryzalin (0.2%, 4.9%, 3.7%, respectively). A greater proportion of soil extractable residues was obtained for diuron (42.5%, 26.8% and 32.2%, respectively) than for oryzalin (14.7%, 12% and 15.5%, respectively). The greater mobility of…

Leaching of oryzalin and diuron through undisturbed vineyard soil columns under outdoor conditions

2006

12 pages; International audience; Field studies monitoring herbicide pollution in the vineyards of Burgundy (France) have revealed that drinking water reservoirs are contaminated with several pre-emergence herbicides. An assessment of the leaching of two such herbicides, diuron and oryzalin, was therefore performed using lysimeters, under outdoor conditions, from May 2001 to May 2002. Four vineyard soils from Vosne-Roman?(Burgundy) were chosen along a topolithosequence: a rendosol and three calcosols. After 673 mm of rainfall, greater amounts of diuron than oryzalin were measured in percolates: respectively 0.10-0.84% and 0.02-0.43% of applied herbicide, depending on soils. Measurements for…

1976

A number of acryl and methacryl derivatives of different sulfanilamides (1a—I) were prepared and polymerized. The fixation of the sulfonamide to the polymerizable group was carried out directly, using the acryl- and methacrylamides, and by means of spacer groups, to favour the enzymatic or hydrolytic release of the drug moiety. Selected sulfonamide types of different pKA values were used, and the pH-dependant solubility of the corresponding polymers was studied. The monomeric acryloyl and methacryloyl sulfonamides were homopolymerized radically by AIBN. For distribution studies polysulfadiazineacrylamide, 14C-labelled in the main chain (2e'), was synthesized. Copolymerization with 2-methyls…

Investigation of polymers in the mass spectrometer, 7. Pyrolysis-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry of low molecular and high polymeric sulfanilami…

1975

A number of low molecular, monomeric and polymeric sulfanilamide derivatives, which have found interest as possibly selective antitumour agents, were investigated by pyrolysis-gas chromatography (GC)-mass spectrometry (MS). Thermal degradation mechanisms were studied using also direct polymer pyrolysis in the ion source of the mass spectrometer. Thermal degradation products as well as low molecular weight sulfanilamides and related model compounds were characterized in their fragmentation behaviour by low and high resolution electron impact and field desorption mass spectrometry. Thermal fragments of structural significance were found, and a differentiation of the low and high molecular sul…

The spectrum of allergic (cross-)sensitivity in clinical patch testing with 'para amino' compounds

2002

Background: Allergic contact sensitization to ‘para amino’ compounds is frequent and the spectrum of cross-reactivity between members of this chemical group is variable. Methods: A retrospective analysis of clinical patch test data obtained with a special test series in the centres of the Information Network of Departments of Dermatology (IVDK) between 1995 and 1999. Results: In the 638 patients tested with the above test panel positive reactions were observed most often to p-aminoazobenzene (16.2%), p-phenylenediamine (14.1%), p-toluylenediamine (10.0%), followed by 4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane (8.5%), Disperse Orange 3 (8.4%) and p-aminophenol (3.1%). Among the 544 patients tested with p-p…
