W artykule przedstawiono przypadek pacjentki cierpiącej z powodu mielopatii szyjnej wynikającej z nierozpoznanego przez wiele lat skostnienia więzadła podłużnego tylnego (OPLL – ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament) występującego w obrębie szyjnego odcinka kręgosłupa. W pracy, poza przedstawieniem przypadku klinicznego, zaprezentowano także patofizjologię, objawy, metody diagnostyki oraz leczenia tego bardzo rzadkiego w populacji europejskiej schorzenia.

Objective: Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is a dysplastic process in cervical squamous epithelium and carries a risk of progression to cervical cancer. The aim of this study was to compare expression of three biomarkers named p53, p63 and Ki-67 in patients with various grades of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and in a control group. Material and Method: 58 patients were enrolled in the study. Each patient underwent a colposcopy-guided biopsy of the cervix. Los tumores de la cavidad oral corresponden al 3% de todos los tumores a nivel mundial. En la actualidad, se tiende a valorar la calidad de los tratamientos que aplicamos a los pacientes con cáncer, en función de la supervivencia, tiempo libre de enfermedad y calidad de vida. Por ello debemos intentar aproximar en la medida de lo posible, la calidad de vida de estos pacientes a la esperable en un estado de salud. A review of methods of intraoperative margin assessment in breast conserving surgery

Breast conserving therapy is the primary treatment modality in early-stage breast cancer patients. Despite the development of methods for the intraoperative assessment of tumor margins, 20–30% of patients still require re-resection due to postoperative tumor infiltration at the surgery margins. In recent years, many methods have been developed to reduce the number of re-resections due to margin infiltration. Here we review the current methods together with several more techniques under investigation.
