Surgical treatment and follow-up of solitary bone cyst of the mandible:a report of seven cases.

We have operated on and followed up seven patients with simple mandibular bone cysts. The clinical data are shown in Table 1. All cysts were asymptomatic, and were found as a result of routine radiographs. They were all in dentulous areas in the mandible (5 in the anterior zone). Only case 5 gave a clear history of trauma in the region of the cyst 7 years before diagnosis. Vitality of the pulp of adjacent teeth was confirmed in all cases except case 6, in whom endodontic orthograde treatment of the teeth included in the lesion zone had previously been done. We report a technique for implanting intraocular lenses (IOLs) in the ciliary sulcus in eyes without capsule support. The IOL design allows it to be implanted without fixation sutures. The lens was implanted in 3 aphakic eyes without capsule support.

Deep femoral artery pseudoaneurysms (DFAPs) are rare and generally occur after penetrating trauma or surgical procedures. A 36-year-old obese man presented with pain in correspondence of the anterior-lateral thigh after 6 months from gunshot wound. Duplex and computed tomography (CT) showed a bilobed right DFAP (maximal diameter 12.9 cm). The patient was managed urgently, under local anesthesia, by placement in the distal DFA of a Viabahn 8 Ã 100-mm stent graft (W L Gore & Associates, Inc).
