Preliminary analysis of CH3D from 3250 to 3700 cm(-1)

International audience; The infrared spectrum of CH3D from 3250 to 3700 cm(-1) was studied for the first time to assign transitions involving the nu(2) + nu(3), nu(2) + nu(5), nu(2) + nu(6), nu(3) + 2(nu 6) and 3 nu(6) vibrational states. Line positions and intensities were measured at 0.011 cm(-1) resolution using Fourier transform spectra recorded at Kitt Peak with isotopically enriched samples. Some 2852 line positions (involving over 900 upper state levels) and 874 line intensities were reproduced with RMS values of 0.0009 cm(-1) and 4.6%, respectively. Database watermarking techniques allow for hiding information in a database, like a copyright mark. While watermarking methods are numerous in the multimedia setting, databases present various specificities. This work addresses some of them: how to watermark a numerical database while preserving the result of interesting aggregate queries, how to watermark a structured stream like a typed XML stream or a symbolic music score, how to watermark geographical data sets.

This paper deals with the first lines of Aristotle’s De interpretatione. Starting from Lo Piparo’s (2003) authoritative reading, I try to show that symbolon does not mean either ‘symbol’ or ‘sign’ in the sense commonly ascribed to these words. On etimological grounds (see symballo), I suggest that symbolon means something as ‘mark’, ‘countresign’, i.e., a double-faced unity. In any case, symbolon establishes a symmetric relation between its relata: if A is symbolon of B, B is symbolon of A.
