In the new era, the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for business organizations is a matter of primary concern and has been researched by scholars around the world. Interest in CSR in business enterprises is often neglected due to its high-cost factor and the enterprises only focused on its operations and profitability for the existence of a business. The article is an attempt to solve the enigma on the potential advantages of the Polish language that comes from the line to the person who will read from Zwierzyniec Mikołaj Rej. The author reviews the most famous and popular meanings of the symbols geese from antiquity to the Renaissance times. Indicated is a long road traveled by this positively associated theme until symbol geese has become synonymous mindless chatter. The opposite of the “idle talk” is the work of Miko³aj Rej, who was the father of Polish literature, hoisted our national culture to new heights.

Food is an effective symbol capable of strongly evoking a cultural identity. In the case of Sicily, this role is mainly played by pastry, and in particular by two sweets: cannolo (the singular of cannoli) and cassata. But how does it happen that just these two preparations, rather than others, take on this value? What are their meanings and what determines them? Are cannolo and cassata the expression of a remote and spontaneous tradition as we generally like to believe? Semiotic analysis not only leads us to understand the complexity of these two pieces of a gastronomy, but also to reflect on the whole notion of symbol, rethinking its limits and possibilities.

Looking at the Madonnas of the trees, we see how an anthropologist disregarding historical depth renounces an integral vision of reality by which it can be measured and interpreted, giving rise «to sometimes narrow, sometimes even grotesque results; with an unexpected resurrection, however, of a banally sociological perspective, in many cases hidden under the false pretences of social anthropology». Pieczęcie oprócz funkcji prawnej zawierają też istotny element komunikacyjny. W artykule przeanalizowano wybrane śląskie pieczęcie nawiązujące do działalności zawodowej ludności, które były używane w kancelariach miejskich, cechów rzemieślniczych oraz przez gminy wiejskie. Zidentyfikowano symbole poszukując typowych przedstawień dla określonych grup dysponentów.

This article investigates the ceremonial of the subjection of the Serbian zupan Stefan Nemanja to the Byzantine emperor Manuel I Komnenos (1172) and compares it with similar events of the period in question. The aim of the article is to establish whether the continuity between the Second and Third Polish Republics officially declared by the Polish elites is based on facts. The authors analyse the question with regard to three areas: symbolic events (handing over of the presidential insignia in 1990 and the 1998 resolution of the Senate of the Republic of Poland on legal continuity), judgements of ordinary courts and the Constitutional Court as well as legal scholarship.
