XLCS: A New Bit-Parallel Longest Common Subsequence Algorithm on Xeon Phi Clusters

Finding the longest common subsequence (LCS) of two strings is a classical problem in bioinformatics. A basic approach to solve this problem is based on dynamic programming. As the biological sequence databases are growing continuously, bit-parallel sequence comparison algorithms are becoming increasingly important. In this paper, we present XLCS, a new parallel implementation to accelerate the LCS algorithm on Xeon Phi clusters by performing bit-wise operations. We have designed an asynchronous IO framework to improve the data transfer efficiency. Robust H∞ synchronization of a hyper-chaotic system with disturbance input

Abstract This paper concerns the robust control problems on the synchronization of a hyper-chaotic system with disturbance input. Using an appropriate Lyapunov function, we design the multi-dimensional and the single-dimensional robust H ∞ synchronization controllers in terms of linear matrix inequalities for the application in practical engineering. Corresponding theoretical derivations are given subsequently. Finally, some numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.

By constructing a series of Lyapunov functions, novel H1 robust syn- chronization controllers are designed, whose control regulation possess the characteristic of simpleness and explicitness. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the e ectiveness of the proposed techniques.
Input-Output Feedback Linearization Control with On-Line Inductances Estimation of Synchronous Reluctance Motors

This paper proposes an adaptive input-output Feedback Linearization (FL) techniques for Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) drives, taking into consideration the iron losses. As a main original content, this work proposes a control law based on a new dynamic model of the SynRM including iron losses as well as the on-line estimation of the static inductances. The on-line estimation of the SynRM static inductances permits to inherently take into consideration the magnetic saturation phenomena occuring on both axes. In this paper a novel three-dimensional autonomous chaotic system, the so called Dadras-Momeni system, is considered and two different control techniques are employed to realize chaos control and chaos synchronization. Firstly, the optimal control of the chaotic system is discussed and an open loop feedback controller is proposed to stabilize the system states to one of the system equilibria, minimizing the cost function by virtue of the Pontryagin’s minimum principle. In this paper, the robust synchronization control for a class of chaotic systems is studied. Based on linear matrix inequality techniques and Lyapunov stability theory, a novel H∝ robust synchronization controller is designed for the possible application in real engineering. Impulsive control on the synchronization for a class of chaotic Systems

In this paper, the impulsive control problem on the synchronization for a class of chaotic systems is discussed. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, the new impulsive synchronization strategy is presented to realize the chaos synchronization and possesses the wider scope of application. Finally the numerical simulation examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our theoretical results.

HOW DO FISCAL CONSOLIDATION AND FISCAL STIMULI IMPACT ON THE SYNCHRONIZATION OF BUSINESS CYCLES?

Using quarterly data for a panel of advanced economies, we show that synchronized fiscal consolidation (stimulus) programmes in different countries make their business cycles more closely linked. We also find: (i) some evidence of decoupling when an inflation targeting regime is unilaterally adopted; (ii) an increase in business cycle synchronization when countries fix their exchange rates and become members of a monetary union; (iii) a positive effect of bilateral trade on the synchronization of business cycles.
