Synchronizing Two Superconducting Qubits through a Dissipating Resonator
2021
A system consisting of two qubits and a resonator is considered in the presence of different sources of noise, bringing to light the possibility of making the two qubits evolve in a synchronized way. A direct qubit–qubit interaction turns out to be a crucial ingredient, as well as the dissipation processes involving the resonator. The detrimental role of the local dephasing of the qubits is also taken into account.
Modelling Systemic Cojumps with Hawkes Factor Models
2013
Instabilities in the price dynamics of a large number of financial assets are a clear sign of systemic events. By investigating a set of 20 high cap stocks traded at the Italian Stock Exchange, we find that there is a large number of high frequency cojumps. We show that the dynamics of these jumps is described neither by a multivariate Poisson nor by a multivariate Hawkes model. We introduce a Hawkes one factor model which is able to capture simultaneously the time clustering of jumps and the high synchronization of jumps across assets.
Sliding mode exponential H<inf>∞</inf> synchronization of Markovian jumping master-slave systems with time-delays and nonlinea…
2011
This paper investigates the problem of exponential H ∞ synchronization for a class of master-slave systems with both discrete and distributed time-delays, norm-bounded nonlinear uncertainties and Markovian switching parameters. Using an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, some delay-dependent sufficient conditions and a synchronization law which include the master-slave parameters are established for designing a delay-dependent mode-dependent sliding mode exponential H ∞ synchronization control law in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The controller guarantees the H ∞ synchronization of the two coupled master and slave systems regardless of their initial states. A numerical examp…
A comparison of different synchronization measures in electroencephalogram during propofol anesthesia
2016
Electroencephalogram (EEG) synchronization is becoming an essential tool to describe neurophysiological mechanisms of communication between brain regions under general anesthesia. Different synchronization measures have their own properties to reflect the changes of EEG activities during different anesthetic states. However, the performance characteristics and the relations of different synchronization measures in evaluating synchronization changes during propofol-induced anesthesia are not fully elucidated. Two-channel EEG data from seven volunteers who had undergone a brief standardized propofol anesthesia were then adopted to calculate eight synchronization indexes. We computed the predi…
Synchronization of hidden chaotic attractors on the example of radiophysical oscillators
2017
In the present paper we consider the problem of synchronization of hidden and self-excited attractors in the context of application to a system of secure communication. The system of two coupled Chua models was studied. Complete synchronization was observed as for self-excited, as hidden attractors. Beside it for hidden attractors some special type of dynamic was revealed.
Wymaga to dodatkowej wiedzy, cz…
Damping Provision by Different Virtual Synchronous Machine Schemes
2020
The adoption of virtual synchronous machine (VSM) schemes for the control of power converters is gaining more and more attention both in academia and industry. The VSM control strategies fall into the category of grid-forming converter controls, and they are intended for a range of different applications, providing specific services and different kinds of support to the grid. The paper investigates the possibility of damping provision to the system by VSM power converters. Different schemes are considered and compared, showing the opportunity of the investigated solutions through combined modal and time domain analyses. A specific modification of the power synchronization loop is recognized…
MR2997965 (Review) 37D45 Viana, R. L.; Lopes, S. R.; Szezech, J.D., Jr.; Caldas, I. L. Synchronization of chaos and the transition to wave turbulence…
2013
In this paper the authors analyze the onset of the wave turbulence in the spatially extended threewave interacting model by using the concept of synchronization. In order to work with a set of ordinary differential equations, they make a pseudo-spectral decomposition of the wave field and identify the onset of wave turbulence as the excitation of spatial modes in the presence of underlying temporally chaotic dynamics. Each spatial point is regarded as a nonlinear oscillator and the onset of wave turbulence is the point where the oscillators lose phase synchronization. The authors use an extremely sensitive complex-order parameter to estimate the threshold of weak turbulence and perform a Ly…
