Huntingtin mediates dendritic transport of β-actin mRNA in rat neurons

Transport of mRNAs to diverse neuronal locations via RNA granules serves an important function in regulating protein synthesis within restricted sub-cellular domains. We recently detected the Huntington's disease protein huntingtin (Htt) in dendritic RNA granules; however, the functional significance of this localization is not known. Here we report that Htt and the huntingtin-associated protein 1 (HAP1) are co-localized with the microtubule motor proteins, the KIF5A kinesin and dynein, during dendritic transport of β-actin mRNA. In the title hydrated salt, which was obtained from the hydro­thermal reaction between between potassium 1,1,3,3-tetra­cyano-2-eth­oxy­propenide and 4,4′-bi­pyridine in the presence of iron(II) sulfate hepta­hydrate, the ionic components are linked into a three-dimensional network by C—H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

The title compound, C16H24N2O2, previously obtained as a yellow oil, exhibits a rather low melting point close to room temperature 297–298 K). In the molecule, the isoindoline ring system is approximately planar and coplanar to the nitro group, forming a dihedral angle of 5.63 (15)°. In the crystal, only weak N—H...O and C—H...π interactions are observed, linking molecules into chains parallel to the [101] direction.

cited By 17; International audience; The reaction of CuBr with 2,6-bis[1-(2,6-diisopropylphenylimino)ethyl]pyridine L afforded a new Cu(I)-Cu(II) derivative [CuBrL]2[Cu2Br4] (1), while the reaction of [Cu(CH3CN)4]PF6 with L in THF yielded the new Cu(I) compound CuL(THF)(CH3CN)PF6 (2). Derivative 2 further reacted with halogenated solvents to yield halogeno-Cu(II) salts, [CuClL]PF6 (3) using CHCl3 and [CuBrL]Br3 (4) using CHBr3. Compounds 1, 3 and 4 have been fully characterised by X-ray crystallography; they contain essentially similar [CuXL]+ cations with a square planar copper(II) co-ordination. A new member of the fusaricidin family – structure elucidation and synthesis of fusaricidin E

Two hitherto unknown fusaricidins were obtained from fermentation broths of three Paenibacillus strains. After structure elucidation based on tandem mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy, fusaricidin E was synthesized to confirm the structure and the suggested stereochemistry. The synthesis was based on a new strategy which includes an efficient access to the 15-guanidino-3-hydroxypentadecanoyl (GHPD) side chain from erucamide.

Synthesis and self-assembly of a PEGylated-graphene aerogel

Abstract In the frame of this work, we present, for the first time, the synthesis and self-assembly of an aerogel built by graphene oxide-polyethylene glycol. The synthetic route involves at first the coupling of GO with an amino-terminated polyethylene glycol sample by carbodiimide in aqueous environment, and the subsequent conversion of the hydrogel achieved into an aerogel via freeze-drying. The 3D PEGylated graphene-based aerogel, characterized by spectroscopic, morphological, structural and mechanical analyses, displays an ultralight and highly porous (99.7%) network and possesses high mechanical properties together with a good biocompatibility.

The hypotheses are required to be correct for all sufficiently large m, or with some positive frequency. These approaches yield a hierarchy of function prediction and program synthesis concepts. The comparison problem of the concepts is solved.

Abstract The crystals of a new aqua-(diethylenetriamine-N, N′, N′′)-copper(II) sulfate monohydrate have been synthesized by direct interaction of solid copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate with diethylenetriamine (deta). The crystal structure of [Cu(deta)H2O]SO4⋅H2O (1) has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods at 100 K and characterized using X-ray powder diffraction pattern: space group P 1 ¯ , a = 7.2819(4), b = 8.4669(4), c = 8.7020(3) A, α = 83.590(3), β = 89.620(4), γ = 84.946(4)°, Z = 2.
