Information systems security issues in the context of developing countries
2018
This chapter explores the current state of information systems security (ISS) in developing countries and suggests a way forward. A systematic literature review is conducted applying the approach suggested in reference [1]. In total, 41 articles were evaluated, 17 of which were analysed as part of the review. The review shows that the proliferation of technology in developing countries is increasing; however, ISS risk is also increasing in tandem. The reasons are lack of robust infrastructure, security education and skilled manpower. The review also revealed that while most of the technologies created are for the organizations in the developed world, developing countries are blindly impleme…
Ecosystem of Social Media Listening Practices for Crisis Management
2021
The benefits of using social media data as a source of information are recognized by both practice and research in crisis management. However, the existing understanding on the matter is fragmented, it oscillates between techno-determinisms and socio-determinisms, which does not provide a holistic picture. In this paper we argue that to better adapt social media data use practices, an ecosystem perspective is needed. In doing so, we conducted a systematic literature review and identified the various entities and their interrelationships that configure the practices of social media listening for crisis management. Then, we summarize our findings by proposing a conceptual ecosystem of practic…
Integrated Geophysical Investigations at the Greek Kamarina Site (Southern Sicily, Italy)
2018
Kamarina, located in southern Sicily (Italy), was an important Greek colony since its foundation in the sixth century BC. Archaeological excavations, carried out since the twentieth century, uncovered only limited portions of the site so far. Despite the importance of the Greek colony, the presence of remarkable buildings that archaeologists expected to bring to light has not found fully correspondence in the archaeological excavations. Consequently, the integrated geophysical prospection carried out in the study area is aimed to support and address the future archaeological investigations. After the photographic and thermographic survey obtained by an unmanned aerial vehicle, we performed …

A reappraisal of the Early to Middle Pleistocene Italian Bovidae
2013
Abstract During the Quaternary, bovids are common elements in the Italian local faunal assemblages (LFAs). Representatives of Bovini tribe are continuously present, albeit with different lineages. Caprini are sporadically recorded by several genera, and Antilopini are less represented, only during the Early Pleistocene in the middle and early late Villafranchian local faunal assemblages (LFAs). Diversity and ecological role of continental representatives of Italian Bovidae varied with LFAs as well as in faunal units (FUs) throughout the Early and Middle Pleistocene. Species richness and diversity peaked during the early late Villafranchian land mammal age (LMA) and then decreased in the pos…
STUDI TASSONOMICI SU ADENOSTYLES ALPINA (ASTERACEAE) IN ITALIA MERIDIONALE
A systematic review of international clinical guidelines for rehabilitation of people with neurological conditions : what recommendations are made fo…
2019
Background: Upper limb impairment is a common problem for people with neurological disabilities, affecting activity, performance, quality of life, and independence. Accurate, timely assessments are required for effective rehabilitation, and development of novel interventions. International consensus on upper limb assessment is needed to make research findings more meaningful, provide a benchmark for quality in clinical practice, more cost-effective neurorehabilitation and improved outcomes for neurological patients undergoing rehabilitation. Aim: To conduct a systematic review, as part of the output of a European COST Action, to identify what recommendations are made for upper limb assessme…
Early–middle Jurassic lytoceratid ammonites with constrictions from Morocco: palaeobiogeographical and evolutionary implications.
2008
13 pages; International audience; The ammonite genus Alocolytoceras Hyatt, 1900 is an uncommon lytoceratid with distinctive shell ornament. A set of 58 specimens, recently collected at Amellago in the central High Atlas (Morocco), has enabled us to trace a succession of three species over eight biozones from the Toarcian to the Aalenian. Two specimens from the Lusitanian Basin are added for comparison. Following a review of the genus, based on original specimens and data from the literature, seven species are considered valid. A palaeobiogeographical synthesis of 13 regions demonstrates irregular distribution patterns over time, with a constant presence in the south-west Tethys and an insta…
New specimens of Lingulocystis Thoral, 1935 (Eocrinoidea, Blastozoa) from the Arenig (Lower Ordovician) of Montagne noire (southern France): Intraspe…
2007
16 pages; The genus Lingulocystis Thoral, 1935 is a preponderant component of the echinoderm fauna of the Lower Ordovician of Montagne noire (France), as suggested by its abundant remains. Its morphology is characterized by a flattened theca, composed of a frame enclosing numerous small polygonal central plates. The new specimens have been determined partly as Lingulocystis elongata Thoral, 1935 and partly as Lingulocystis aff. deani Ubaghs, 1994. This study is the first report of Lingulocystis in the Foulon Formation. New stratigraphic ranges have been defined for both species: L. elongata from the early Tremadoc (Saint- Chinian Formation) to the middle Arenig (lower part of the Landeyran …
