Hibrīda mašīntulkošana, kombinējot vairāku mašīntulkošanas sistēmu rezultātus.
2019
Šis darbs pēta metodes un izstrādā rīkus, lai kombinētu tulkojumus no dažādām mašīntulkošanas (MT) sistēmām, uzlabojot kopējo tulkojuma kvalitāti. Tiek pētīta metožu piemērojamība mazajām, morfoloģiski bagātajām valodām, it īpaši latviešu un igauņu valodai. Analizētas esošās metodes un izstrādātas vairākas jaunas, kuras implementētas un novērtētas, izmantojot automātisko un cilvēka vērtēšanu. Radītas vairākas jaunas metodes, kas: sadala avotvalodas teikumu fragmentos un tos kombinē, izmantojot valodas modeli; kombinē neirontulkojumus, izmantojot neironu MT uzmanības sastatījumus; iteratīvi papildina apmācības datus ar vairākpakāpju tulkošanas pieeju. Galvenie rezultāti ir jaunu tulkojumu kv…
Considerations for Using Domain-Specific Modeling in the Analysis Phase of Software Development Process
2002
Recent studies claim that domain-specific modeling may highly increase development productivity in specific well-defined domains. Domain-specific modeling is most often used only in the design phase of software development process, while general-purpose modeling techniques are used in the other phases. Integrating general-purpose modeling techniques with domain-specific modeling might be problematic, which is why in this paper we consider if it is feasible to extend domain-specific modeling to cover analysis phase activities in addition to design phase activities. Essentially, we discuss the different activities in analysis phase and consider whether or not domain-specific techniques can be…
Software Inspections in Practice: Six Case Studies
2006
Software inspections have been acknowledged as an important method in software engineering, but they are not well applied in practice. This paper discusses the current practices and the related problems based on six case studies in industrial settings. The analysis of inspection practices was organized according to ICMM, which is a model for systematically assessing and improving software inspection process maturity. The sample case organizations used inspections relatively regularly. The involved units are compared and the revealed practices, their characteristics, inspection problems and implications of the study discussed. The main problem areas were non-existent inspection training, lim…
Case studies and coupling of processes
2007
This chapter with eight authored sections presents a selection of possible application of microdynamic simulation to address geological questions. The various processes that have been introduced in the previous chapter were used, sometimes with minor additions or modifications. Because processes in rocks never operate in isolation, the reader will see that the various authors in this chapter have combined two or more processes to simulate the microstructural development under investigation. As such the authors have fully taken advantage of the possibility of the Elle software to couple processes.
An Ontology Architecture for Standards Integration and Conformance in Manufacturing
2007
Standards reflect consensus on the semantics of terms. When used to communicate, whether between people or software systems, standards ensure the communication is correct. Different standards have different semantics for the same terms and express common concepts using different terms and in different ways. Communication between software systems based on different standards is sometimes difficult to achieve. Standards integration concerns the explicit representation of the overlapping sets of concepts in standards and the differences in their semantics to ensure that these standards are used consistently together. This in turn enables software that is based on integrated standards to intero…
An Evaluation of the Single-test Tension Infiltrometer Method for determining the Hydraulic Conductivity of Lateral Capillarity Domain Soils
2004
Abstract The transient and the steady-state single-test tension infiltrometer methods are expected to provide poor hydraulic conductivity K0 estimates in soils situated in the lateral capillarity domain. To evaluate the best strategy for conducting a single-test experiment in these soils, infiltration experiments were numerically simulated for a sandy loam and a clay soil by using two initial pressure heads (−1 and −100 m), four pressure heads at the soil surface (from −0·15 m to −0·01 m), and a maximum duration of 4 h (sandy loam soil) and 12 h (clay soil). The most accurate predictions of K0, differing by a factor of between 0·9 and 1·1 from the true value, were obtained in wet conditions…
An Exploratory Empirical Study of Internal Quality Attributes of Open Source Software Systems
2012
This exploratory empirical study has focused on open source software (OSS). Seven medium-sized OSS systems from the SourceForge repository were analysed. Over 100 internal quality attributes and programming practices were scrutinized by using two semi-automated source code analysis tools (FindBugs and SoftCalc). Many statistically significant relations were revealed by the conducted regression analyses. Seven so-called bad programming practices; as manifested by the measured source code inconsistencies were identified as having significant relations to internal software quality. Additionally we set and tested two hypotheses. That investigation provided mixed results partly supporting some o…
VIRES: A distributed open architecture for pictorial database
2006
In this paper we describe VIRES (Visual Information Retrieval Extendible System) an open distributed pictorial database for image retrieval. The retrieval methods, pictorial indexing and data are distributed over the network. VIRES has been designed as an open architecture. The system is based on the concept of distributed model via dictionary in order to reach a good versatility without changing the kernel of VIRES.
Space‐time dynamical models
2008
Purpose – The purpose is to present a new formal approach based on a partial integro‐differential equation, the space‐time state transition equation (STSTE), and on a set of general equations with which space‐time dynamical models of complex systems, such as social systems and ecosystems, can be built.Design/methodology/approach – The STSTE provides the partial derivative of the density of a state‐variable with regard to time as a sum of time rates and space‐time rates. Time rates describe the dynamics of the system for each space‐point irrespectively of the other points, whilst space‐time rates describe this evolution as a consequence of the relation of each space‐point with a given set of…
Finite-time stability analysis and stabilization for linear discrete-time system with time-varying delay
2014
Abstract The problem of finite-time stability for linear discrete-time systems with time-varying delay is studied in this paper. In order to deal with the time delay, the original system is firstly transformed into two interconnected subsystems. By constructing a delay-dependent Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional and using a two-term approximation of the time-varying delay, sufficient conditions of finite-time stability are derived and expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The derived stability conditions can be applied into analyzing the finite-time stability and deriving the maximally tolerable delay. Compared with the existing results on finite-time stability, the derived …
