Platforma czasopism Uniwersytetu Opolskiego (UO) rozpoczęła działalność pod koniec 2018 r. i tym samym rozszerzyła działalność wydawniczą uczelni poza działające od kilkudziesięciu lat wydawnictwa: Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Opolskiego i Wydawnictwo Wydziału Teologicznego. Does openness and open access policy relate to the success of universities?

This study takes a closer look at the Ranking Web of Universities and Ranking Web of Repositories rankings and tries to examine if there is a connection between these two rankings. Study is done by analyzing the success of University of Jyväskylä and the institutional repository JyX of the University in these rankings. Comparison shows that the JyX archive plays an important role in University’s success especially when analyzing the presence and openness of the University. Open Badge Concept in Education - Benefits and Challenges

Digital learning badges offer new possibilities alongside conventional certificates. The Open Badge concept is one of the most common implementations of learning badges in use. The concept was piloted and the services required by it were developed in a project carried out in Finland in 2014. This research highlights the utilization opportunities noted in connection with the Open Badge concept and also challenges related to it. Open Badges is an open source code concept developed by the Mozilla Foundation to identify the learner's knowledge and skills and to display them in a modern way. Although the concept was originally meant to display informal learning, it can also be applied to formal education. Decoherence without entanglement and quantum Darwinism

It is often assumed that decoherence arises as a result of the entangling interaction between a quantum system and its environment, as a consequence of which the environment effectively measures the system, thus washing away its quantum properties. Moreover, this interaction results in the emergence of a classical objective reality, as described by quantum Darwinism. In this Rapid Communication, we show that the idea that entanglement is needed for decoherence is imprecise. We propose a dynamical mixing mechanism capable of inducing decoherence dynamics on a system without creating any entanglement with its quantum environment.
