HRV indexes are usually calculated from electrocardiographic (ECG) recordings after measuring the time duration between consecutive R peaks, and this is considered the gold standard. Testosterone metabolism in benign prostatic hypertrophy: in vivo studies of gestonorone caproate and cyproterone acetate.

Summary 18 patients with obstructive benign prostatic hypertrophy were studied. A 5-day treatment with gestonorone caproate (200 mg daily and 200 mg on alternate days) and cyproterone acetate (300 mg daily) suppressed the plasma LH and serum LH levels. Subsequently, H3-testosterone was injected intravenously and its elimination from plasma and uptake and metabolism in the BPH tissue studied. The elimination of total radioactivity and H3-testosterone from plasma was not altered after the 3 treatment regimens as compared to the control group. The article is devoted to the investigation of the structure of macro- and mesopores on the surface and inside of modified NH4NO3 granules. The main quality indicators of modified NH4NO3 granules are presented and the relationship between the nanoporous structure of granules and the quality indicators is shown. Various thermodynamic conditions for obtaining a nanoporous structure of the surface and internal layers during the modification of granules are considered. Free spectral range enlargement by selective suppression of optical modes in photonic crystal L7 microcavities

We show an enlargement in the free spectral range (FSR) of the emission spectra of a L7 photonic crystal microcavity (PCM). The FSR enlargement is achieved by the selective modal suppression of the second cavity mode. The selective suppression is made by introducing two nano-inclusions in specific sites within the defect region that forms the cavity. We have demonstrated the suppression of the second mode of the L7-PCM, and a significant increase in the FSR of the fundamental mode. The method provides an alternative to engineer the modal structure of a photonic crystal microcavity. International audience; Laser heating and ablation of materials with low absorption and thermal conductivity (paint and cement) were under experimental and theoretical investigations. The experiments were made with a high repetition rate Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (10 kHz, 90 ns pulse duration and l = 532 nm). High repetition rate laser heating resulted in pulse per pulse heat accumulation. A theoretical model of laser heating was developed and demonstrated a good agreement between the experimental temperatures measured with the infrared pyrometer and the calculated ones. Abstract Plasma electrolytic oxidation coatings were produced on 7075 Al alloy in a silicate based solution containing sodium tungstate using unipolar, usual bipolar and soft-sparking bipolar pulsed current regimes. X-ray diffraction proved that the coatings contain gamma alumina and metallic tungsten. EDS results showed that the tungsten content decreases with increasing the negative half cycle. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the pancake and volcano-like were dominant morphologies for the coatings produced by the unipolar and bipolar current regimes, respectively.
