2015
Mirka Kanerva 2015. Tutkimukseen osallistui 156 oppilasta kahdesta t…

2015
Heiska, H. ja Latonummi, K. 2015. Once in a lifetime: Lukiolaisten kokemuksia Vanhat Tanssit -kurssista ja -tapahtumasta. Jyväskylän yliopisto, Liikuntakasvatuksen laitos, Liikuntapedagogiikan pro gradu -tutkielma.
Body movements and their role in music therapy in the treatment of depression and an eating disorder : a case study
2015
Music and dance play an important role in every culture and society. In some parts of the world, the word for music and dance is the same. Due to this, one good treatment and psychological support can be music and dance. The purpose of this master’s thesis was to investigate how body movements and their role in music therapy in the treatment of depression and an eating disorder can offer one insights, and improve depression and quality of life. This case study was conducted within a clinical setting. The client attended 12 music therapy sessions that were recorded with video and audio. The recordings were beneficial for the data analysis to be used in my thesis, which took the form of deduc…
Change in body image among depressed adult outpatients after a dance movement therapy group treatment
2018
Abstract This study reports on the body image of depressed psychiatric outpatients, and the impact thereon of a dance movement therapy (DMT) group. Body image is perceived as a tri-partite construct consisting of image-properties, body-self, and body memory. Depressed patients in an outpatient mental health service participated in a DMT group treatment consisting of twelve 90-min long sessions in groups of 4–7 patients. Patients (N = 18) responded to a structured Body Image Assessment (BIA) before and after the treatment. Initially, the depressed patients’ body image was characterized by fragmentation, distortions, and shallowness of body awareness. The DMT group treatment aimed to offer th…
The Effects of Dance Movement Therapy in the Treatment of Depression: A Multicenter, Randomized Controlled Trial in Finland
2020
This multicenter research investigates the effects of dance movement therapy (DMT) on participants diagnosed with depression. In total, 109 persons participated in the study in various locations in Finland. The participants were 39 years old, on average (range = 18–64 years), and most were female (96%). All participants received treatment as usual (TAU). They were randomized into DMT + TAU (n = 52) or TAU only (n = 57). The participants in the DMT + TAU group were offered 20 DMT sessions twice a week for 10 weeks in addition to standard care. The measurement points included pretreatment measurement at the baseline, posttreatment measurement at the end of the intervention, and a follow-up me…

Direct radiofluorination of [18F]MH.MZ for 5-HT2A receptor molecular imaging with PET
2012
Imaging the serotonin 2A neuroreceptor with positron emission tomography has been carried out with [11C]MDL 100907 and [18F]altanserin for years. Recently, the MDL 100907 analogue [18F]MH.MZ was developed by combining the increased selectivity profile of MDL 100907 and the favourable radiophysical properties of fluorine-18. Here, we want to report the synthesis of [18F]MH.MZ via direct radiofluorination. Unfortunately, the direct radiofluorination did not have any significant benefits over the indirect labelling method. This is mainly because the precursor for the direct labelling approach is not completely stable and slowly decomposes. However, only one HPLC separation is necessary for the…
Clinical Benefits of Early Triptan Therapy for Migraine
2004
The introduction of the triptans brought advances in achieving complete and sustained pain resolution in migraine patients, compared with non-migraine-specific treatments. However, sustained pain-free rates for triptans recorded in many clinical trials are still relatively low. This may be due to study participants being treated late into the attack, when pain is already moderate or severe. Studies with almotriptan have shown that efficacy is enhanced when treatment is given early in a migraine attack while pain is still mild, compared with later administration when pain intensity is greater. Developments in our understanding of migraine pathophysiology provide a rationale for this phenome…
Detection of periodontal pathogens in mothers of preterm birth and/or low weight
2019
Background The present study aims to estimate the possible relationship between periodontal pathogens in the oral cavity and the birth of Preterm Birth (PTB) and/or Low Birth Weight (LBW). Material and Methods It’s a case- control study with the subgengival biofilm samples were collected from four sites up deeper until 48 hours postpartum and were processes by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) for presence the periodontal pathogens Prevotella intermedia (Pi), Fusobacterium nucleatum (Fn), Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), Treponema denticola (Td), Tannerella forsythia (Tf) e Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (Aa). The mothers were divided into case grup (babies weighing < 2500g and/or gesta…
