Lines of development in social research on disability in Finland between the years 1970–2010

This article reviews the development of social research on disability conducted in Finland during the 40-year period from 1970 until 2010. The main focus is the connection of the research with the socioeconomic development of the country. The review starts from the emergence of a new disability service paradigm during the late 1960s. This new paradigm centred around the concept of rehabilitation, and had its roots in the birth of a postmodern welfare state during the same decade. Sport Coaches Burnout as a Threat to Professional Success, Mental Health and Well-Being

The article explores motivational and personality predictors of burnout syndrome in sports coaches. The study involved 183 sports coaches of 20–63 years old (86.9% women; M=41.34±10.56 years), with professional experience for 13.83±9.98 years. Three components of professional burnout ― Emotional exhaustion, Depersonification and Reduction of professional achievements ― were measured with the adapted Maslach professional burnout inventory (Vodopyanova, et al 2008). Tutkintovaatimuksiin pakollisena kuuluvan toisen kotimaisen kielen, ruotsin taitojen osoittamisen KORU-arviointikriteerien B1-tasolla on aikaisemmissa tutkimuksissa arvioitu olevan haaste riittämättömien taitojen takia jopa puolelle yliopisto-opiskelijoista. One of the main concepts within psychoanalysis is that there are three levels of consciousness: the unconscious, the preconscious and the conscious. The aim of this work is to discuss and analyze a process which deals with all three of these states of consciousness on different levels, called “reverie”, as experienced within the music therapy setting. Tiivistelmä-Abstract Maisterintutkielma käsittelee rintamamiestaloon liitettyä elämäntapaa sosiaalisen median kontekstissa 2010-luvulla. Tutkielman lähtökohtana olivat yhteisöpalvelu Facebookissa tehdyt havainnot keskustelua herättävistä aiheista. Aineistolähtöistä analyysiä varten rekrytoitiin Facebookin rintamamiestaloa käsittelevistä suljetuista keskusteluryhmistä henkilöitä, jotka vastasivat sähköpostitse lähetettyyn puolistrukturoituun kyselyyn. Vastauksia kyselyyn saatiin 25 kappaletta. Trait emotional intelligence (EI) is a noteworthy psychological resource in nursing. However, its effects on well-being and job performance are inconsistent. Thus, we explored the latent beneficial and risk profiles of trait EI among 461 Japanese eldercare nurses. Latent profile analysis revealed six latent profiles. In addition, multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) showed that the profile with the highest overall scores on the trait EI dimensions was associated with the most beneficial outcomes (better well-being, higher job performance). Tämän pro gradu –tutkielman tarkoitus on selvittää kaksikielisten oppilaiden, joilla äidinkielenä suomi ja ruotsi tai saksa, näkemyksiä ja kokemuksia toisen äidinkielensä opetuksesta A- tai B-kielenä. Lisäksi tarkastelen, miten opettajat ottavat huomioon kaksikieliset oppilaat A- tai B-ruotsin ja -saksan opetuksessa. Vertailun vuoksi haluan ottaa selvää myös siitä minkälaisia käsi-tyksiä ja kokemuksia opetuksesta on sellaisilla kaksikielisillä oppilailla, jotka käyvät koulua suurimmaksi osaksi toisella äidinkielellään, eli ruotsiksi.
