Unrealistic Optimism in the Time of Coronavirus Pandemic: May It Help to Kill, If So—Whom: Disease or the Person?
2020
Objective: The results of numerous empirical studies have showed the occurrence of so-called unrealistic optimism. Thus, we aimed to investigate whether in the situation of an imminent coronavirus pandemic, people would still perceive themselves as being less exposed to the disease than others. Methods: Survey studies were conducted to examine the level of unrealistic optimism. Participants (n = 171, 67.3% of women) in a subjective way judged the risk of their coronavirus infection and the likelihood that this would happen to an average student of the same sex from their class. The survey was conducted in three waves: prior to the announcement of the first case of coronavirus (2&ndash
O-142 COVID19-free endometrium: Undetectable viral RNA in endometrial biopsies from positive symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 women
2021
Abstract Study question Does SARS-CoV-2 infect the endometrial tissue in women with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)? Summary answer Symptomatic women with COVID-19 report no presence, in the short term, of viral RNA from SARS-CoV-2 in the endometrium. What is known already The recent emergence of COVID-19, caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has not allowed yet to establish putative relations between this disorder and other existing pathologies. It is the case with fertility problems and the reproductive organs, including a possible endometrial disorder caused by the virus. Thus, an important step is to elucidate the viral presence in different hu…

Management of liver disease in Italy after one year of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic: a web-based survey
2021
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)pandemic has severely limited the clinical activity of most hospitals around the world. A previous survey of the Italian Association for the Study of the Liver (AISF) has demonstrated a negative impact of the first pandemic wave on all inpatient and outpatient hepatologyactivities. Like other countries, Italy has subsequently experienced a second and third wave, which occurred in November 2020 and in March 2021 respectively. During the second and third wave many hospitals had already developed emergency management plans and improved knowledge on the management of mild-moderate COVID19 disease was available. However, it is unknown w…

[The impact of COVID-19 on hand surgery: a French retrospective comparative study in COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 hand trauma centers].
2021
Introduction: En 2020, la pandémie a divisé la France en zone COVID-19 et non COVID-19.
