Expression of the Intracellular COPT3-Mediated Cu Transport Is Temporally Regulated by the TCP16 Transcription Factor

2018

[EN] Copper is an essential element in plants. When scarce, copper is acquired from extracellular environment or remobilized from intracellular sites, through members of the high affinity copper transporters family COPT located at the plasma membrane and internal membrane, respectively. Here, we show that COPT3 is an intracellular copper transporter, located at a compartment of the secretory pathway, that is mainly expressed in pollen grains and vascular bundles. Contrary to the COPT1 plasma membrane member, the expression of the internal COPT3 membrane transporter was higher at 12 h than at 0 h of a neutral photoperiod day under copper deficiency. The screening of a library of conditionall…

Arabidopsis TCP Transcription Factors Interact with the SUMO Conjugating Machinery in Nuclear Foci

2017

In Arabidopsis more than 400 proteins have been identified as SUMO targets, both in vivo and in vitro. Among others, transcription factors (TFs) are common targets for SUMO conjugation. Here we aimed to exhaustively screen for TFs that interact with the SUMO machinery using an arrayed yeast two-hybrid library containing more than 1,100 TFs. We identified 76 interactors that foremost interact with the SUMO conjugation enzyme SCE1 and/or the SUMO E3 ligase SIZ1. These interactors belong to various TF families, which control a wide range of processes in plant development and stress signaling. Amongst these interactors, the TCP family was overrepresented with several TCPs interacting with diffe…

Microvascular skin blood flow following the ingestion of 75 g glucose in healthy individuals.

2009

It is expected that microvascular blood flow might be affected by blood glucose, blood insulin and C-peptide levels. In our investigation skin microvascular blood flow (LDF) was measured using laser doppler fluxometry at skin temperatures of 37 degrees C and 44 degrees C during a 75 g oral glucose load (OGT) or water in ten healthy volunteers (6 male, 4 female, age: 28.1+/-4.0) who had fasted overnight. The transcutaneous oxygen tension (tcPO2) was measured using a transcutaneous oxygen electrode at a temperature of 44 degrees C. The microvascular response to acetylcholine was investigated before the start of the ingestion period and after 30 minutes. In addition, the capillary blood cell v…

Distributions and determinants of urinary biomarkers of organophosphate pesticide exposure in a prospective Spanish birth cohort study

2017

Background: Prenatal exposure to organophosphate pesticides (OPs) has been associated with impaired child development. Pesticide exposure determinants need to be studied in order to identify sources and pathways of pesticide exposure. The aim of this paper is to describe prenatal exposure to OPs and evaluate the associated factors in pregnant women. Methods: The study population consisted of pregnant women ( n = 573) who participated in the INMA birth cohort study in Valencia (Spain, 2003 – 2006). OP metabolites were analyzed in maternal urine at the 32nd week of gestation using a liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry method. The analysis included non-specific (diethyl pho…

Exposure to non-persistent pesticides in the Spanish population using biomonitoring: A review

2021

Abstract Although Spain does not have a regular national human biomonitoring program yet, different research groups are active in evaluating the exposure of children and adults to chemicals. In the last seven years, several studies in Spain have evaluated the internal exposure of the population to currently used pesticides. The present review analyzes the scope of these studies, the employed analytical methods and the main results of the exposure and risk, mainly for children and mothers. The frequency of exposure to biomarkers of exposure to organophosphate pesticides is high. Some non-specific dialkyl phosphate metabolites (DAPs), such as the diethyl phosphate (DEP), present Detection Fre…

Automated pre-column derivatization of amines in biological samples with dansyl chloride and with or without post-column chemiluminescence formation …

1999

On-line automation of two different liquid chromatographic procedures, a pre-column derivatization system and a pre- and post-column system, in order to generate chemiluminescence is reported. Dansyl chloride (Dns-Cl) was used as a pre-column reagent to form fluorophores and bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl) oxalate (TCPO) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as a post-column reagent to generate chemiluminescence. This procedure is based on the employment of a primary column packed with C18 material inserted in a multi-dimensional assembly for sample clean-up and derivatization with Dns-Cl. The dansyl derivatives formed are transferred and separated in a LiChrospher 100 RP18 analytical column (125 x 4 mm …

Examination of robust D-stability of TCP-DCR protocol

2012

This paper presents non-linear mathematical model of a computer network with a part of wireless network. The article contains an analysis of the stability of the network based on TCP-DCR, which is a modification of the traditional TCP. Block diagram of the network model was converted to a form in order to investigate the D-stability using the method of the space of uncertain parameters. Robust D-stability is calculated for constant delays values.

Evaluation of the Impact of Multipath Data Dispersion for Anonymous TCP Connections

2007

Despite recent research efforts, wireless ad hoc networking technology remains especially prone to security attacks. In this work our contribution focuses on determining the optimal trade-off between traffic dispersion and TCP performance to reduce the chances of successful eavesdropping, while maintaining acceptable levels of throughput. For our experiments we propose a multipath-enhanced version of DSR, and we compare Tahoe, Reno and Sack TCP variants. Results show that multipath traffic dispersion impact on TCP throughput is bounded to a maximum of 25-35%, and that there is only a minimal dependence on the number of routes used, the number of consecutive packets sent on each route, the r…

Adaptive Low Priority Packet Marking for Better TCP Performance

2003

This paper proposes a packet marking scheme for TCP traffic. Unlike previous literature work, in our scheme the majority of TCP packets are transmitted as high priority. The role of a low priority packet appears that of a probe, whose goal is to early discover network congestion conditions. Low priority packets are marked according to an adaptive marking algorithm. Numerical results show that our scheme provides improved throughput/delay performance.

TCP Performance in Mobile Ad hoc Networks

2013

International audience; In this paper, we present a survey of TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) protocol for better performance in the MANET (Mobile Ad Hoc Network). After a short presentation of the main features of TCP, we give the most important problems from which TCP suffer in MANET. We present after that some approaches proposed in the literature in order to improve its performance. Our paper contains also a performance evaluation of TCP NewReno and TCP Vegas transport protocols under AODV and DSR routing protocols. The simulations are conducted under varying conditions of number of TCP connections, number of nodes and mobility.
