This protocol outlines a mixed-methods cluster randomized controlled trial (CRCT) in upper secondary schools that will investigate how video-based online coaching can support teachers’ competences in teacher-student interactions (TSIs) and thereby improve student engagement and learning. The intervention will take place over a school year with at least 100 teachers and 2,000 of their students. From crossword puzzles and quizzes to more complex gamification strategies and serious newsgames, legacy media has long explored ways to deploy playful approaches to deliver their content and engage with the audience. We examine how news and games fit together when news organizations, game creators and news audiences welcome gameful forms of communication and participation. Moreover, we reflect on the theoretical and empirical significance of merging news with games as a way to reformulate normative assumptions, production practices and consumption patterns. As a result, the boundaries between journalism and game’s logics start to erode, and they begin to find new ways of converging.

Physical activity improves health and may delay the onset of several chronic diseases. For women in particular, the rate of these diseases accelerates at middle age; therefore it is important to identify the determinants of health-enhancing physical activity during midlife in this population. In this study, we focused on determinants that are unique to the female sex, such as childbearing and menopause. The main objective was to characterize the level of physical activity and differences between active and inactive middle-aged Finnish women. Comparison of inter-trial recovery times for the determination of critical power and W' in cycling

Critical Power (CP) and W’ are often determined using multi-day testing protocols. To investigate this cumbersome testing method, the purpose of this study was to compare the differences between the conventional use of a 24-h inter-trial recovery time with those of 3 h and 30 min for the determination of CP and W’. Tässä tutkielmassa tarkasteltiin systemaattisen kirjallisuuskatsauksen avulla urheiluvalmentajien vuorovaikutusosaamista. Tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää ja jäsennellä, minkälaista tutkimusta urheiluvalmentajien vuorovaikutusosaamisesta on tehty 2000-luvun ensimmäisillä vuosikymmenillä. Tavoitteena oli selvittää, mitä urheiluvalmentajan vuorovaikutusosaamisen osa-alueita on tutkittu, mistä näkökulmista, missä konteksteissa ja millä menetelmillä sitä on tutkittu sekä millaisia tuloksia tutkimuksissa on saatu.
