Quasi *-algebras arising from extensions of positive linear functionals

In this paper we show how some known quasi *-algebras can also be obtained through the construction of slight extensions of nonclosable positive linear functionals defined on dense *-subalgebras Ao of given topological *-algebras. Moreover, we consider also, for each of the functionals we present, their absolutely convergent extensions and the GNS *-representations of the quasi *-algebras arising in the process of extension.

The various discussions and papers from the 4th Seminar on Agrarian History in its meeting about the local authorities in the 19th-century Spain, are discussed. A simple field method to measure the hydrodynamic properties of soil surface crust

The hydraulic resistance of the surface crust was determined by a combination of two infiltrometric techniques: first, a surface measurement of steady-state infiltration rate is conducted by a mini-disk tension infiltrometer (MDI); then, the surface crust is removed, its thickness is measured, and a ponded infiltration test is performed at the same site. The Beerkan Estimation of Soil Transfer parameters (BEST) method is applied to estimate the hydraulic properties of the underlying soil provided the particlesize distribution and the bulk density are known. Development of microfluidics for sorting of carbon nanotubes

Sorting of carbon nanotubes by their chirality is the current bottleneck in the way to their broad employment based on their exceptional electronic and optical properties. Despite the extensive effort, there is no known method, which would result in really pure chirality ensembles. Previously reported sorting protocols result in enrichment rather than in sorting, alter electronic structure, and suffer from low yield. Per molti anni lo studio mediante eco-color-doppler dei parametri semiquantitativi emodinamici renali è stato utilizzato per rilevare le alterazioni della perfusione del rene trapiantato, per la diagnosi della stenosi dell’arteria renale o per valutare la progressione di alcune nefropatie. Più recentemente è stato osservato che tali parametri, ed in particolare l’indice di resistenza intrarenale (IR), non sono soltanto espressione della perfusione parenchimale, ma sono associati anche ad alterazioni morfo-funzionali sistemiche dell’albero vascolare.
