Like many of Wenders’ films, the book Una volta (Einmal. Bilder und Geschichten, 1994; Once: Pictures and Stories) is the result of a fruitful encounter between different arts. Wenders now takes on the role of photographer and narrator, while never completely abandoning the more usual role of director. The beginning of every short composition in Einmal, associated with one or more images, is the usual one of fairy tales. However, the word “once” that precedes as a title most of the compositions is not just an intertextual reference to the genre of children’s literature. Il volume racoglie contrbuti, per lo più proposti al convegno di Bamberga, 21-23 novembre 2013, che analizzano le modalità e i contenuti della recezione del Decameron nei paesi di lingua tedesca. Partendo dalle questioni di recezione più tradizionali, i contributi, che spaziano dal tardo Medioevo all'oggi, si propongono di analizzare più a fondo il contesto culturale e i processi comunicativi di ciascua fase, e se, e in che modo, la recezione di Boccaccio abbia influito anche sulla costituzione di un'immagine dell'Italia nei paesi d'Oltralpe.

This chapter considers Bernardi’s contribution to two different processes of traditional institutions revival in East Africa. He was the main ethnographer of the Mugwe, a traditional dignitary of the Meru of Kenya, that ceased to exist soon after his field work. He used the attribution ‘failing prophet’ in the title of the first edition of his book, changed into ‘blessing prophet’ in the following edition, having in the meanwhile registered a growing symbolic consideration for the institution. The history of the gadaa generational class system of the Oromo is intertwined with the Oromo liberation struggle.
