Policies adopted by the governance of the EMU during the financial and Covid crises display a clear gap between the “form” and the “substance” of the institutional architecture of title VIII of the TFEU. It is submitted that this architecture is in sharp contrast with the European constitutional tradition. Furthermore, the traditional view is rejected, according to which the EU Commission and Council, as well as the ECB, are devoid of binding powers in the field of economic policy. Some reflections concerning both methodological implications of the foregoing and its possible effects on the European integration process are finally developed

Breastfeeding is a practice so far unobtrusively studied by cultural and medical anthropology, an act placed between nature and culture, between private and social women spheres and which, like birth and pregnancy. It expresses hierarchies in roles and gender relations among biopolitical dynamics which denote the organization of society itself. As a cultural practice, breastfeeding differs itself on the basis of the social and ethnic belonging of the mother and the child, leading to ritual differences such as the law of the “kinship of milk” in muslim societies or the apothecary taboo of Sub-Saharan Africa. Here we report a case of a giant inguinoscrotal hernia in an elderly patients treated by means of an open positioning of intraperitoneal ePTFE dual mesh. In patients with giant inguinoscrotal hernia the forceful introduction of viscera in abdominal cavity and primary wall closure is burnened from respiratory complication, abdominal compartment syndrome, and defects in wound healing thus exposing the patients to further morbidity and mortality risk. Objectives: We evaluated the incidence of incisional hernia after kidney transplantation, predisposing factors and the results of surgical repair of a giant incisional hernia by intraperitoneal PTFE dual mesh. Patients and methods: We report our experience about an incisional hernia in a 55 years male after renal transplantation treated with an intraperitoneal dual mesh prosthesis. Background: Vertical transmission of HIV infection may occur during pregnancy, at childbirth or through breastfeeding. Recommendations on the safety of breastfeeding of HIV-infected women on effective antiretroviral treatment are not univocal among international guidelines (WHO 2010, EACS 2017, DHHS 2017), leaving space for variability at the patient’s level. Methods: We collected clinical, laboratory and outcome data from 13 HIV-infected pregnant women who, between March 2017 and June 2021, elected to breastfeed their children against specific medical advice.
