More specifically, the thesis focuses on the Self-Healing (SH) part of SON. Faults can appear at several functional areas of a complex cellular network. Effect of Heating Time and Temperature on the Chemical Characteristics of Biochar from Poultry Manure

Poultry manure (PM) chars were obtained at different temperatures and charring times. Chemical-physical characterization of the different PM chars was conducted by cross-polarization magic angle spinning (CPMAS) (13)C NMR spectroscopy and thermal analysis. CPMAS (13)C NMR spectra showed that the chemical composition of PM char is dependent on production temperature rather than on production duration. Aromatic and alkyl domains in the PM chars obtained at the lowest temperatures remained unchanged at all heating times applied for their production. Sustainable nanocomposites based on halloysite nanotubes and pectin/polyethylene glycol blend

Abstract This study was focused on the preparation and characterization of biofilms based on pectin/polyethylene glycol 20000 (PEG) blend and halloysite nanotubes (HNTs). The obtained blends loaded with a natural nanoclay are proposed as sustainable alternative to the polymers produced from non-renewable resources such as fossil fuels. Properties of technological interest have been monitored and they were correlated to the structural features of the nanocomposites. Two collagen receptors, integrins alpha1beta1 and alpha2beta1, can regulate distinct functions in cells. Ligation of alpha1beta1, unlike alpha2beta1, has been shown to result in recruitment of Shc and activation of the Ras/ERK pathway. To identify the downstream signaling molecules activated by alpha2beta1 integrin, we have overexpressed wild-type alpha2, or chimeric alpha2 subunit with alpha1 integrin cytoplasmic domain in human osteosarcoma cells (Saos-2) lacking endogenous alpha2beta1. The chimeric alpha2/alpha1 chain formed a functional heterodimer with beta1. Bakalaura darba “Latgaliešu rakstu valodas prievārdu da, iz, apleik atbilsme latviešu literārajā valodā” mērķis ir pētīt un salīdzināt no latviešu literārās valodas atšķirīgus prievārdus latgaliešu rakstu valodā. Pētījuma uzdevumi ir teorētisko materiālu apkopošana, valodas piemēru vākšana un analizēšana gan latviešu literārajā, gan latgaliešu rakstu valodā, pētot kā latgaliešu rakstu valodas prievārdi atbilst latviešu literārās valodas prievārdiem. Piemēru atlasei izmantots “Līdzsvarotais mūsdienu latviešu valodas tekstu korpuss 2018”, kā arī “Mūsdienu latgaliešu tekstu korpuss”. Darbs sastāv no ievada, saīsinājumu saraksta, četrām nodaļām, secinājumiem un izmantotās literatūras saraksta.
