Many evidences show that sulphoraphane (SF), a natural isothiocyante found in cruciferous vegetables has a wide range of chemopreventive as well as apoptosis inducing properties. The ability of SF in inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest is associated with the regulation of many proteins including Bcl-2 family proteins, caspases, p21, and cyclin dependent kinases. Impact of Endocrine Disorders on IVF Outcomes: Results from a Large, Single-Centre, Prospective Study

Abstract Endocrine disorders negatively influence the ovarian function, and increasing incidence of endocrine diseases with age may have further negative effects on pregnancy rate. Prospective cohort study of 231 consecutively enrolled patients underwent IVF treatment. In patients with known endocrine disorders, the laboratory parameters were corrected before IVF treatment. One hundred sixty one patients (69.7%) had at least one known and treated endocrine disorder (study group), and 70 patients were endocrine negative (control group). Thyroid sarcoidosis as a unique localization.

Sarcoidosis is a systemic disorder characterized by granulomatous lesions, principally affecting the lungs. There are numerous reports in the literature of an associated involvement of the thyroid, much more frequently in hypothyroid than in hyperthyroid subjects. The present case report refers to a woman presenting with thyroid nodules and normal biochemical levels and thyroid function parameters, while histology revealed sarcoid-type lesions.
