This paper introduces the idea of data-driven narratives to examine how the use of information, communications, and media technologies (ICMTs) impacts the sustainable growth of economies. While ICMTs have regularly been advocated as a policy tool for growth and development, there is a research gap in empirical studies validating how such policies may be effective. This analysis is based on historical panel data from 39 economies across the developed North (19) and developing South (20). PACKET SCHEDULING AND PRICING BASED ON INFLICTED DELAY

An adaptive packet scheduling method is presented in this paper. The adaptive weights of a scheduler are chosen based on maximizing the revenue of the network service provider. The pricing scenario is based on the delay that a connection will inflict to other connections. Haluaisitko menna muunkansa kalastaman? : verbiketjujen kehkeytyminen suomi toisena kielenä -oppijoiden kielessä

Tutkimuksessa pyrittiin selvittämään, kuinka suomea toisena kielenä oppivat aikuiset käyttävät verbiketjuja eri kielitaidon tasoilla. Tutkimus liittyy CEFLING-hankkeeseen (Linguistic Basis of the Common European Framework for L2 English and L2 Finnish), jonka yhtenä tavoitteena on hahmottaa rakenteellista perustaa kielitaidon kommunikatiivisen arvioinnin tueksi. Tämän osatutkimuksen aineistona on 232 Yleisten kielitutkintojen tekstiä vuosilta 2002–2006, ja se on saatu CEFLING-hankkeelle kesällä 2007 kootusta korpuksesta. Tonētu lēcu ietekme uz šaušanas precizitāti

Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 35 lappusēm. Tas satur 28 attēlus, 1 tabulu, 30 literatūras avota atsauces. Darba mērķis: noteikt, vai tonētas lēcas ar gaismas caurlaidību 80 % un 20 % pelēkam un 85 % dzeltenam tonim ietekmē šaušanas precizitāti. Metode: Pētījumā piedalījās 36 dalībnieki, 18 šāvēji un 18 civilpersonas. Visiem dalībniekiem tika pārbaudītas redzes asums un kontrastjutība ar un bez tonētām lēcām. Šāvēji šaušanu veic ar deviņu mm kalibra pistoli SIG P210 25 m attālumā no mērķa. Tika secināts, ka tonētas lēcas neietekmē šaušanas rezultātus.
Configurational theory in traditional manufacturing industries: a new model of high-performing small and medium-sized enterprises

The goal of this study is to provide a model of high-performing small and medium-sized companies to address the new environmental challenges in traditional manufacturing industries. Adopting a configurational logic and following an inductive approach based on four high-performing firms, this paper provides new empirical evidence on how the steps followed by these firms are adjusted to the high-performance models prescribed by the literature. In doing so, it also offers a dynamic view of the interrelationships between the strategy and the new conditions of the environment.
